Just bought C&L intake with tune
perty much the same as this. http://forums.bradbarnett.net/showthread.php?t=442255
I have the Racer setup on mine with the DiabloSport unit specific to the C&L.
Is that what you want directions for? I can scan and e-mail you those if necessary.
NOTE: If you jump the instructions and try to install, the aluminum MAF housing does not use the factory sensor screws! You should have two screws that came with the kit for that housing. Outside of that it's straight forward. Install the hardware and then follow the instructions built into the tuner. Your ODO will go - - - - - for a while but don't get scared, it comes back in the final stages of the tune install.

Alright got it in. Didn't load any tunes yet. Started it up, ran rough for a bit. Took it for a spin ran fine for a bit then chugged a bit and seemed rough just idling in the driveway. Is that because no tune is loaded? Also the SCT I got came with some tunes from Brenspeed. Can I use those or do I need new ones specifically for my car? Thanks
Oh my...where to begin. First off, don't run the car with just the intake installed and no aftermarket tune. You can damage the engine this way by running it lean. This is the reason it ran like junk.
i'm assuming you bought the X-Cal from an individual, and not a tuner such as brenspeed? If that is the case the tuner you have is worthless to your car unless it has tunes specifically for your computer code. There are different computer calibration codes depending on what year, tranny, gears, etc. Get some tunes from brenspeed, bamachips, etc. that match your computer calibration before you go loading whatever came with the tuner you bought. If you try and load the wrong tune in there, it won't work.
Most importantly though, don't drive it with the stock tune in place and a new intake!!

Well I bought a 93 Race Bama tune. Gave him my calibration code. Installed it today. Everything seemed to upload/download fine. Started it up, ran rough for 10 secs then was fine. On my way the engine stalled! Good thing I had the stock airbox in the trunk. Downloaded stock and everything is fine again. Why is this not working for me? I hooked up the maf sensor and the little breather hose. This isn't rocket science, I've installed cold air intakes before.
That is strange, but it sounds like you may have an air leak somewhere. Did you make sure everything is tight and the MAF sensor is installed in the correct direction? They are directional if I remember right.
Use the SCT tuner to check the DTC (diagnostic trouble codes, otherwise known as the CEL) What code does it tell you? You can check the code meaning at www.obd-codes.com. Let us know what code you got.
Alright guys, don't know what worked but seems to idle fine now. Unplugged the battery and did a do over again. Thanks for the help. Hopefully tomorrow it will be fine.
