I thought I was for quite some time, but it became official about 2 weeks ago as my car put down 310 and 329 at the wheels on the dyno at Mustangweek. I'd like to give myself a 375/400 car when all is said and done without F/I. So that means cam. What else? Delete plates? Understand the aftermarket for TB is not so good on a N/A car.

Cams, longtube headers, possible head work, delete plates, no cats, and an aggressive tune from a reputable tuner. That would get you close.

Or for about the same cost, buy a blower and make 450 hp at the tires.

Hi Sean,
Those are good numbers with your mods. Staying N/A is a tough way to make horsepower but that is my path also. I am running delete plates and Comp NSR cams and only could get 315/311 but I am running an auto transmission. So I give up like 25/20 to you manual guys. I would think that cams and delete plates would add 35/10 to your car easy. This may seem low to you but the stock cams make about as much torque out of these engines as possible. Cams will only add horsepower numbers. No real torque....just move it around in the rpm band. But they are still a good mod. And if there is any N/A mod I am overlooking please speak up. And it is just my opinion I don't think 375/400 is possible N/A Maybe 375/350 is more realistic.
Scott

GT500 TB??

I know the BBK and Granatelli don't work so well, but what about the switch to a GT500 TB??
Haven't read much about NA guys trying this.

I've seen Metco and RPMOutlet advertise them (read bad things re: RPM, though)
Either is $300 - $350, including the adapter plate.

Just FYI if you want a GT500 tbody from a reputable supplier, go to www.teamjdm.com

You can always go with a stroker kit to make some more power!

Sadly Scott, that's what I'm seeing too. But I guess we'll see what we can do. Us N/A guys have to stick together and not let those F/I guys bully us around! Shame on you guys!

you have a long way to go but you may consider a mezziere electric water pump as well.

I need to pull my stock throttle body off the car and take some measurements. I have often wondered if the bores could be enlarged and larger blades made to replace the stock ones. I am not sure how much material could be removed safely but I need to look into this. If you could increase the blade diameter 3-4 mm per side it would be a pretty cheap fix on the stock TB. Increasing air flow. I wonder.

I for one am intrigued since the aftermarket can't do much with the TB.
