hey guys,

Here's the results on the JLT air intake Version 2 with my 87 program versus the stock file. Now remember this is an automatic car so this is why the numbers are a little lower then most manuals.

Still a gain of 17rwhp and 16 rwtq on an auto isn't bad

Thanks, Doug.

Doug, is there not a day when you are up at Walker Dyno??? Nice gains, especially for a 87 base tune.

How much time did you spend with this on the dyno? Just wanted to know if you could get anymore out of it with a bit more time.

Good job Doug.
I saw similar #'s on 87 and a Auto with the series II a few weeks back. 20 rhwp and 20 rwtq.

Doug, correct me if I'm wrong, but looking at your graph, did you not pick up 30+RWHP and TQ through out the whole upper half of the run??
Peak #'s are good, but it's about the power gain through out the run that makes a big differance in SOTP.

Hey Jay - reading over this post made me go 'huh?" when I read JLT II - so I just checked your website -

COOL man - I didn't know you had a new pipe out!!
It says you need to change the tune if you upgrade the pipe - what are the differences between the Gen 1 pipe?

If you have a early model without the insert I was sending (filter falling off issue) then no tune is needed.
If you have a model that came with the insert there is a different tune due to the insert.

If you installed the insert your self and never changed the tune your good.
Call me if this is confusing. Cause it can be.

Hey Jay, I had one of the pipes where the filter was falling off, I sent you my pipe and you send me one back with an insert but I never got a new tune. Maybe that's why I can't get my mph back up to what it was at the strip!!! What should I do to get the new tune(s) since I got the 87 & 93 tunes from DTP when I got the 1st pipe?

Hey guys,

First, Jay, Yes, I definatly picked up a great deal in the midrange with the pipe but I was having horrible times with the automatic and the dang converter at 4800 RPM's with it flashing. Yes, It picked up a great deal across the entire RPM range, and left the dyno on my car as well .

This was with the Second Gen JLT kit. I was developing a new tune for it. I can answer your question there Dysan and say that you will need a new tune for the Second generation JLT over the first as using the old tune will cause it to run rich. Not dangerously rich but enough that it MAY slow you down a bit in the 1/4.

Thanks, Doug.

I actually have the 1st gen intake with the insert in it, not the new, schweet looking, JLT II intake. Brent was nice enough to send me new tunes for mine right away so I'll be able to give it a shot at the track tomorrow. Hopefully I'll finally get myself to 13.3 or 13.2. I've hit 13.4 approx 5 times now.
