Just curious as some folks have documented their mods in progress - has anyone who installed the JLT CAI kinda listed out their steps and taken pics as they did?...
Just curious.

Just curious.

I do have a finished pic (or 2) though.

Yeah I ended up noticing all you were doing is tightening clamps....
But for someone who next to never works on a car, you tend to get put off for a few minutes when it comes to removing/unplugging the MAF when you've never done that before - and the thing is on there tight as heck and you don't wanna break the darn thing.....
S'all I'm sayin'....

Here you go:
How to install your: 2005 GT
First I want to thank you for buying this CAI, as I know there are many others to choose from. I hope you are satisfied with the look and performance. You may use any polish or wax on it as it’s painted with the same high quality paint as your car. Also use some tire shine on the rubber elbow, looks great!
Please check to see all parts are included:
(1) 90 degree rubber elbow w/ clamps, (1) JLT painted pipe with PCV fitting,(1) air filter and pcv hose (1) JLT heat shield
Optional parts: SCT Tuner or CD W/ tune or SCT cable.
• Remove the stock intake from the throttle body to the air box. There is only one bolt on the air box.
• Start to assemble the JLT intake.
• Install the rubber elbow on to the pipe. Putting the long end of the elbow on the pipe.
• Remove the stock MAF sensor and using the supplied bolts and rubber inserts. Tighten snug.
• Note: When tightening MAF sensor, Be sure to hold sensor in tight like this: Tighten screws a few turns each side, going back and forth applying pressure inward to keep insert in hole. When tight screws should be snug and a few threads should be showing through the inside of pipe. Do not over tighten. If inserts balloon out the top of the hole un screw and start over.
• Install air filter on the end of JLT by the MAF sensor.
• Now install the JLT as a unit on to the throttle body. It will rest on upper radiator hose. This will cause no problems.
• Adjust the pipe in and out of the elbow so the filter sits just away from the body panel
• Install replacement PCV hose and the JLT is complete.
• If you are running the JLT heat shield, set the bottom into the frame rail and bolt to the stock airbox location.
• If you ordered the Tune on CD then you will need to load it on your PC and also download the SCT Xtreme software from the SCT web site.
• If you ordered the SCT Tuner then follow the directions in the box as far as loading the tune on your car.
• You must tune your car for this kit. Failure to do so will result in major engine damage. DO NOT DRIVE WITHOUT A TUNE!
• Thanks for the business. If you have any question please email me @ Jay@jlttruecoldair.com

I truely think it will help very little, but will help some. That is why I did not make a huge box around the filter, but only a thick plate to block the drivers header heat. More warm air is better then less cool air.
Many kits block the bottom and sides of the filter and that's where all the cool air is coming from when your at speed.
Please email me if you want one.

I did a write up on my install. The write up and pics are somewhat of anaddition to Jays instructions. BTW, I am in no way affiliated with JLT or DTP, just a retail customer

Dave, I would suggest searching all the forums and see what quick fix instructions that may be necessary to avoid any redo's.

Geez I didn;t have any issues - like I said, I am a novice wrench turner but trying to learn - with all the amazing posts on this site, I was after a possible step by step visual guide to use as a reference - my main thing was the MAF - I wasn;t sure how it came out and the insturctions did NOT go into detail - that's it. I didn't want to break the thing and F myself. For a novice, the directions were not as clear as they could have been.
It done - the cai is on the car and it works great.
