Learned something new today!
So I'm coming down I-66 on my way to work and take the I-495 exit, which merges onto 495 from the left. Then I have about two miles to slide across four lanes in heavy morning traffic to make my exit to Route 7.
So as I usually do, when I start to merge I put on my right turn signal and just leave it on, to let the highway heathens know I need to get over for the exit, dammit!
Suddenly, after about fifteen seconds I hear this BEEP BEEP BEEP and it's not stopping! I check the gauges and dashboard in growing panic (since this is all happening at 65mph), then see the message on the trip computer:
TURN SIGNAL INDICATOR ON
or something like that! Do I really need a reminder that the flashing light and clicking sound are not supposed to be constant??!?

That one also got me the first time I heard it. But, if you lived in South Florida, you would not ask your question.

Really, you haven't seen people leave there turn signal on for like 20 blocks?

The turn signal in the '05 is sooo loud, I doubt you would need a reminder to let you know it's on. But it's a cool feature.

Obviously you don't listen to your stereo at the same volumes that I do!

Seriously though, I usually do have the radio up real loud. But this car does have one of the loudest turn signals I've ever heard.

I was just in Florida for 10 days ... I didn't think people there even used their turn signals (or stopped at red lights for that matter).

I wonder if this is just the IUP package...? I dont usually fully depress the turn signal lever to turn my Indicator on when changing lanes on a highway - I use the temporary setting - once you let go of the lever indicator is off..
Hm guess I will have to try driving 20 blocks with indicator on....
