I prefer to deal with all of my tuning at home, or on the dyno. You never know what kind of issues you will run into.

I didn't mean to come off as an @$$, but I figured, you've got to do a bit of research to even know about a JLT intake, so I thought for sure you'd know that you needed the tune.

Now, enjoy the intake for now, and start saving up for a blower!

I forget where I'm at when I come over here sometimes.

It's a completely different learning curve.

Imagine if this was over at "The Site".

I turned the elbow around and now it fits purrrfectly got to take her out on the road and gave it some gas and she roars can't wait to change it to 91 octane, still have 1/4 tank of 87. well my lessons learned were: NOT DO THIS SH*T AT WORK!!! if i had more time i would have noticed the problem instead of rushing. but live and learn i guess. but now i'm very pleased with the results i even get a nice little rumble from my exhaust.

thanks again everyone

Stoenr, maybe you are living up to your name to much, because there is not any weather stripping in the picture or on the car. You must be seeing things.

I think JLT recently upgraded their heat shields. That may be why it looks different to you.

It states in the instructions in bold print. "... putting the long end of the elbow on the pipe". Yeah, I don't like reading them either...lol.

Stoenr,
Here's what I added to the edges of my heat shield, top & bottom where it rides against body, lines, etc.
I used windshield washer tubing & slit it along 1 side, just pressed it on. The heat shield was wearing into my hood liner.
You can also see where I put a small piece of foam weatherstrip on the end of the filter, as it was rubbing on inside of hood.

I had to tweak mine as well as the filter was rubbing on the hood. I used pre-cut self adhesive felt piece, however, I placed it on the hood, not the CAI. I think the weatherstripping would look better on the hood(not as noticable) than on the filter- IMO

Good call guys! Looks good. My filter has also rubbed into my hood and the paint off.
