JLT Help!!!!
JLT Help!!!!
I installed my JLT during lunch, didn't have time to retune, but when I start it now it run rough and back fires. Will the tune correct this or did I do something wrong when I installed it.?
Just a piece of advice....If you need tyo retune your car after a mod, make sure you install the mod in a place you can leave your car for a while.
At work might not be the best place to run into some problems.
I prefer to deal with all of my tuning at home, or on the dyno. You never know what kind of issues you will run into.
I didn't mean to come off as an @$$, but I figured, you've got to do a bit of research to even know about a JLT intake, so I thought for sure you'd know that you needed the tune.
Now, enjoy the intake for now, and start saving up for a blower!
wow, i got it tuned and boy what a difference.
I can't beleave how well it responds now. and that's with an 87 tune. will retune to 91 when my tank get lower. Now for the problems i have now. i wasn't able to install the heat shield. I have stretched the body and filter as far as i could and the wide part of the filter blocks it from settling in the cradle so i'm running without the shield. here are the pics of my install. i would appreciate any help, maybe from people who had the same problems.
i keep getting an error when i try to insert my pics. will try to post them later

I am pretty sure you have the elbow on backwards. Try switching it around. The reason I am so sure is I did the same thing when installing mineand could not make the heat shield fit properly. When I installed it correctly the heat shield goes on perfectly.

Here are some pictures of mine if it helps. If you look at your first picture, compared to my first picture you can see the difference in positioning of the elbow. Yours comes out further and then to the right pushing your tube too far towards the front of the car and that is what is giving the problem fitting the heat shield.
