Hey Guys,
We have a Diablosport tune on a 05 w/ the JLT CAI and initially everything is looking great. We still need to recheck after some driving has been done to make sure nothing changes. Once we know that the tune is perfect, we expect to be able to release it on Tuesday April 12.

will you be selling a predator with that tune already in it??

All,

I have to say I agree with Faber. Not knocking the product, after looking at the two major tuner modules out there I think the Predator is the way to go. However, it seems to me from a business sense that having a "tunerbase" set up would be good business for Diablo. With two way communication between tuners nationwide, and with all the people enthusiastic about tuning their cars, then information on the proper modifications to the tune would be able to be in Diablo's hands in short order. By analyzing the results, then the right tune for any combination of mods shouldn't be that much of a stretch.

What's in it for Diablo? Well, if they can say that they provide this service (even for a nominal fee), then that's something that the competition doesn't provide. More of an incentive for people like me who haven't bought one to choose the Predator. And with a new mod, all the end-user has to do is pay his fee ($15-$25, say) for his updated tune with his new combination of mods. Now you've got two revenue streams, the initial purchase of the Predator, and then paying the fee for downloading the updated tunes with each mod.

Diablo wins with additional income. The CAI manufacturers win (along with every other aftermarket part company) because now people will buy their part since it is "Certified Predator Compatible." Tuner garages win since the hard core enthusiasts, not satisfied with the downloaded tune, will take it to get it fine-tuned on a dyno. Parts vendors win because they could include one free download from the "tunerbase" for the part you just bought, drawing people to their store (or online vendor site). The end user wins because for at least 75% of us, the downloaded tune will be just dandy, and for the other 25%, see the last sentence. Everyone wins, no one loses.

Perhaps an idea worthy of consideration in the boardroom at Diablosport. Or perhaps not. Take it for what it's worth. Cheers, and happy motoring!

B.W.

Tell your GF to take a thousand mile trip like now! Or send it to me and I'll hook it up
to a laptop and give you loads of information. There is no such thing as a perfect
tune one size fits all only close. Is this tune good for 87 as well as 91 or just for one?

The idea is we create calibrations and CMR dealers offer service in the field for the customer using the combinations we may not be able to cover, as there are many, and they can always make a vehicle specific calibration to your surroundings as well.

The fuel you use at your climate or altitude. These things make a difference as well. A canned tune is great, but nothing beats actual dyno time with wide band.
Sounds like a few CMR dealers are working on custom tunes, and will start selling them soon. We assure you they have all the tools in CMR to make a great calibration, and with time will help cover the CAI and other aftermarket parts in combinations for everyone.

Thanks,

Bill, I have a offer for you...

I welcome you to send back your unused JLT kit for a refund and order a C&L or Steeda.

These kits are avaliable now and that's what your looking for. They are quite abit more $ but it sounds like you need to get a CAI/Tune on your car quick.

I will be on the look out for your package.

Again, I do not cater to you and only you, so you are welcome to stop telling me what to do with my company. I will release this tune when it's ready and not a minute sooner.

Thanks to EVERYONE else who is waiting for the right tune.

I have no plans to return your kit because its the only one out there that is what I was looking for. Plastic tube. No Heat Exchanger. I have never said I did not like it but have said the mounting needed to be improved which I am now doing.
Giving us a tube without a tune is like giving a kid a toy for Christmas without the batteries then making him wait until the forth of July for the batteries promising him every day you will have them the next week.
As for telling you how to run your business. You were the one that was complaining about being covered up with work doing it all yourself. I suggested that you hire some help and stop crabbing. If you can't see the obvious someone needed to tell YA. Who asked you to cater to me? Not I. I have lined up my own tuner and it will cost a little more but wait is no longer an issue.

How can you say I offer a kit without a tune?? I offer the SCT and have from the start.

I never complained or "crabbed" about my situation. I mearly explained things don't happen overnight and this is why. No need to turn my words around. :nono:

I'm glad you will be doing a dyno tune and I hope it works out for you. Just make sure the tuner knows what he's doing. It's not a 1 hour deal with these cars as you will see.
It has been a absolute pleasure doing business with you, thanks again!

Burke0011: I agree 100%, but when someone makes false statments about me I feel the need to correct them.

Thanks
Jay

well here is what i have done, and it seems to be running real strong, but i am being a bit conservative as i am trying to save up to have a pro tune the car:

I installed the steeda CAI tune (which is a 91 octane tune according to Nick at Diablosport) and then added 2 notches of fuel to each 2 to 4k and 4 to 7k

I also retarded the timing (we dont have the best octane fuel here in Tucson AZ) by 1.5 degrees for 2-4k and 2 degrees at 4 to 7k

I left global timing alone

the car seems to pull herder and respond better.

bear in mind that my altitude, humidity (or lack thereof), Fuel quality, and intake may differ from yours.

I am only stating what seems to be working well for me. your results may vary, and nick at diablosport has got me worried that my car might fall apart if i dont take it to a CMR dealer and let them milk me for 300 bucks

so use this advice at your own risk.

but it seems to be workin for me.

Faber loves to put words in people’s mouths!! "Fall apart" ???? WOW

Your car might detonate if you alter the calibration to much with out monitoring A/F ratio, is what I said.

If you’re in Az. Faber your doing the right thing, the fuel there is supposed to worse then in Ca. and with the addition of the Az. heat, it can be detonation sensitive.

Mike,

Please call on our office in Fl. and ask for Keith. We would like to review a few things about the vehicle set up. The vehicle with out a calibration in it, and a CAI installed, would run the way you describe. Not sure why your seeing this with the tune in the vehicle.

561-908-0040

Sure we can work with you to dial the vehicle in.

Thanks,

Nick - I must say (and hopefully many members agree) "Thanks For Your Help".

I know Diablo has a few issues with the 2005 Mustang right now but I'm glad you all have been working with us to resolve these problems. I had a little rocky start but Scott Beer took care of me and I DO appreciate it. I stand behind your product so keep up the good customer service!

Thanks_Jay

Mike- I haven't maade any adjustments to my timing. I don't know what the cause of the low end response but I DO know that I had the same problem and I resolved it by contacting Diablo.

This is your best solution unless you have access to a dyno (hopefully free) and make the changes monitoring with the proper equipment.

You should try and contact Diablo this morning so you can get a response by the end of the day. Do a forum search and you will find the phone number and email.

Good Luck Man!!!

I was'nt putting words in your mouth Nick, I was just saying you had me worried.

I almost took the CAI out of my car completely. I was not trying to slam you at all either. I definately appreciate your participation here, and I am sure that many others do also. I am new to this method of tuning an engine and am just trying to learn.

No offense man.
