I ordered the JBA Long Tube headers Today! I was very impresed with their pruducts at SEMA.They are pricey $1250.00 dollars through a local shop.After reaserching it though I feel the HP gains 20-30 and the sound will be worth it. I will post the installation and end results if any one is interested.Down with the cats

20-30HP gains from changing the headers? Is it just me or does that seem a bit high.

Thats what JBA is claiming.I talked to the reps at SEMA.They say they were even surprised with the gains.Theres a lot of hidden HP through the manifolds and cats,theres also a scavenger in the collector for the optimum backpressure.The dyno will tell for sure though!I'll be dynoing just before the header install then right after,and I'll post the papers so you all can see.Even if its a 15 HP gain I'll be happy,20-25 extremly happy!I heard a sound clip at SEMA it sounds incredible!!

would it be legal to get the long tube headers, and put cats after that. Would it still pass emissions tests? is it possible?

I don't see why it wouldn't pass smog with everything else hooked up.

If I knew and trusted a shop well enough to fabricate custom headers I would in a heart beat! JBA has a solid and impressive history and I trust them.They know all the tricks to squeeze all the HP available plus there of the highest quality available.As far as emissions are concerned Nevadas smog regulations are no were near as tough as Californias! Should still run plenty clean!!

With headers it's important to have someone with a proven design, otherwise there's a good chance of wasting the money spent for them.
Hopefully JBA will come down in price with a little compitition.

Agreed, that's a lot of money. I will wait to see what the others bring out and price. JBA may bring down their price when they have some competition.

That may be crazy to you Werked 66, but I personaly don't mind paying for very well built parts of the highest quality.I did a tremendous amount of research on headers and JBA's well ahead of the rest , especially where the 05 is conserned. The JBA's also have a 2000 degree ceramic coating that will lower under hood temp's and help make more HP.I'm doing all this to prepare for a whipple S/C Im installing in Jan/Feb. I'm also installing underdrive pulleys (Steeda),SCT Flash tunner, Brembo 13" disk brakes (cant go fast if you cant stop fast!) ,Heads (ported and polished) ect. I see no value in buying cheep crap parts, unless you expect crap performance, I guess.I'll be posting my mods and results (dyno's) to assist fellow Stanger's in what works.

HP=$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

20 is about right for tuned long tubes for these engines...at least that's the case with the 2v and 4v.

you know you will need to overdrive the supercharger to get the intended boost levels with underdrive pullies installed!

Geeze man, you got alot of mods going on. I'd suggest with all this you should get a Car Domain page goin like 2005RedGT has. This way you can post all the goodies and pics, and we can check 'em out.
