JBA Axle Back Installed
Just had the JBA Axle Back system with the 3" tips put on, so here's the thoughts:
More quiet than my 2000 GT with Flowmasters
Good Deep Throaty sound
No to loud at all, but definitely louder than stock -- it won't vibrate you to death going down the highway
Tips look excellent, since they are 3" rolled tips in chrome and they stick out a little more than the stock
Good price from AJUSA -- $295 delivered
Bottomline -- Good sound, but not too loud. If you're looking to make some noise, then you might look somewhere else.

yeah... SLP is REALLLY LOUD!!! i'd say too loud. if its on your daily driver... after about 6 months... youd want to drive yourself off a cliff. my friend has a 2000 Ws6 with it and he already regrets it... only after 3 months. and it sounds mean as heck!!! my fave sound on mustangs is Borla Stingers or Magnaflow.

Toronto has a huge downtown area ( reminiscent of Manhattan) and I want to scare the bejeebers out of pedestrians on the sidewalks after I pull out on a green light.. However, I don't want it too loud like a Harley roaring by .. Get my drift ?? So, what's a good one for that ? The Borla Stingers ? or how about the Bassani's I keep hearing ?
I want something louder than the JBA's , but not as loud as the SLP's .. I guess the sound I am looking for is the flowmasters on the 2000 Mustang GT like the person who started this thread had ( which he says by the way was louder than his present JBA kit on the 05) . Problem is the flowmasters sound different ( not as loud) on the 05 since it's a 3 valver not 2 valves per like on the 2000 GT.
Somebody asked if we had any problems with the alignment of the mufflers and the answer is YES. Actually, the factory exhaust on the left rear hung a little lower (so to speak), so it took some jury rigging (crowbar on right side) to get them "almost" even. The left side was probably 2" lower when they first were put on, then we tried to pry and even them out. Either I blame the factory for having the hanging location a little off, or the aftermarket companies are not at 100% perfection. Overall, I like the setup, but the wife mentioned last night that she couldn't hear me leaving driveway like when I had Flowmasters on the 2000 GT--still works for me with a good deep sound. I think somebody had a sound file of the JBA with just the mufflers and the JBA with headers, x pipe, etc.
I found the file somebody else had made of just the mufflers and I would say it's pretty representative.
