Hi all,

I'm looking into getting a tune/intake (JLT or C&L from Brenspeed) combo in the near future for my 2006 5 speed GT. I would liek some feedback from users. Is this mod a real 'seat of the pants' type performance gain? The dyno numbers seem impressive...but am I going to feel the difference in the driver's seat? I like the way my car performs now...but it does have some issues. I hate the throttle lag I seem to have when I stomp on it. It is like the car pauses for a second before it decides to GO. This lag makes driving the 5 spd a little tough (smooth gear changes with RPM matching, etc.). Do the tunes fix these issues. I see lots of posts in the search that say these things are fixed...but I'd like some more feedback from users in this group.

So, how about some 'seat of the pants' performance gain reports and general comments (fixing issues like lag) about tune/intake combos.

Thanks.
Tilt

Intake and tune is the best bang for your buck mod you can do for this car. If you don't feel the seat of the pants differece then something is wrong. I can't speak for the Stick but on the Auto the throttle delay issue is gone. I would recomend the JLT II and
SCT Xcal 2 with tunes from Doug @ Bamachips for the Auto. I have also heard good things from Brenspeed for the sticks. This is how a Mustang should run.
Let the Pony breath!!!!
Just my 2 cents.

You can not go wrong with an intake and a tune, it is the way the car should have come from the factory . I can personally recommend Lidio at Alternative Auto, great guy to deal with and the tune leaves you with a

How is Lidio with the 5 speed trans (I know he works wonders with the AT)? The reason I ask is he is only about 45 minutes from me and it's obviously a lot better if the tuner has the car right in front of them, right?

IF I were you I would drive over to his place and get a tune for YOUR car.
I live in ST Louis and am going to drive up there next summer and get him to dyno mine. His tune is in my Stang now and it rocks.

Do you have the 5 speed? Thanks for the input.

bump.....just wondering from people who might have first hand knowledge of both brenspeed and lidio. I have heard great things on both these tuners. My question is: brenspeed seems to be the preference for the MT (generally) and lidio seems to be the preference for the AT (generally), I live 45 minutes from lidio but have a MT, who should I buy my intake/tuner from?

Oh yeah! I do not feel subtle changes like others do. But when I installed my JLT and tune, I was very surpriose in how much of a feel there was. I had to take it off once and I really missed it. I could not wait to get it back on.
