Intake Questions...

I had a question for you guys about intakes for my '06. Two friends of mine have used the JLT kit with the SCT tuner and had very good results. I can get the kit w/tuner direct from JLT for about $570.

I was looking on some sites today for other stuff an stumbled across a Cold Air Kit from Injen. This thing is just SEXY! Do you know anything about this kit? It doesn't say whether it needs a tune or not (although I know most do). It's pretty expensive for a kit without a tuner, but I LOVE the look of it.
Here's the link to it

Any ideas would be appreciated. I'd like to do a cold air kit by Thanksgiving time

If you're looking to getting by Thanksgiving, Brenspeed is your choice. Good price, tunes, and quick shipping.

its like the K&N, AEM or any other non-tuning required intakes. minimal power, and very minimal results when you get a tune with it as well.

JLT and the C&L intakes are the best bang for the buck intakes, and they do require tuning.

OKay that's what I wanted to check... although it looks good, I'm more interested in the Power.

I just installed the JLT in my car and I love it. It's like a completely different car. That's just with the 87 tune! You wont be disappointed.

If you are looking at the JLT, I would suggest getting it from one of the reputable tuners on the boards. The tune that comes with the X-Cal direct from JLT is a canned SCT tune. It is probably the same tune setup that the X-Cal SF model comes with. I had that tune for a while, and it is ok....but that is all. I recently upgraded tunes to Tillman Speed's custom tunes, and it is way better. I can feel more power, and even better throttle response.

If you are going to spend 570 on the direct from JLT setup, you might as well get the best setup you can get and go with a custom tuner (bamachips, brenspeed, tillman speed). They are about the same price anyway. www.bamachips, www.brenspeed, www.tillmanspeed.com

It's kinda hard to believe that people pay $700 on a C&L street intake and tune.
I wanted a JLT II (best balance of performance and price) but, ended up with the C&L Street because I got a good deal on it.
