Intake manifolds?

Is it a worthwhile mod to upgrade the stock intake manifold on a 07 Mustang GT?

What are some of the better/worthwhile options and has anyone done a comparison test?

Just the stuff in my signature.
I looked at the C&L website and their dyno shows gains only above 5500 RPM. IIRC, the stock 3V has a revlimiter set at 6250-6375 RPM (looking at my stock calibration). The SCT tunes raise that to 6500 RPM for the milder tunes. So I don't think a new intake manifold is a good choice without some serious modifications to allow the engine to rev higher (aggressive camshafts, forced induction)?

in terms of power mods, just a Steeda CAI kit and SCT Pro Racer 93 octane tune.

It looks like some of the intakes delete the IMRC/CMCVs, so I'll have to disable them in the tune.

How much of a gain in power is there to be realized? C&L says 14 hp from their intakes, but I thought deleting the IMRC/CMCV itself was worth 5-10 hp?

Was told by local shop (gear heads) and am it's never a bad idea to get the intake... But you will need cams and what not to really get the most out of it...

That's what I am thinking too after looking at the C&L dyno sheet. The only gains to be realized are above 5500 RPM. Considering the stock engine is revlimited to 6375 / 6250 RPM, I'm not seeing any major gains without being able to spin well into the 7000 RPM range. That would mean aftermarket camshafts and possibly new internals to handle the higher RPM?

I've heard mixed reviews about gearheads... They were cool when I got my xpipe from them...they have a Shelby cobra they are looking to hit 219mph at Texas mike this year... I'd just go talk to em and get a feel for how talented their tuner is... Lonestar is supposed to be one of the best, however T1 racing is another shop close to us and the owner Tony built a 2500 hp GTR skyline... That dude can tune anything, tunes will run you about $600 through him tho
