Installing new dampers; what all do I need?

Ok;

Finally ordered FRPP dampers. From what I've read, most of the parts are single use and need to be replaced. What else do I need for the install?

Thanks

Walt

I'd really urge you to go with the D-Specs instead. The FRPP dampers ride pretty rough.

basic hand tools, a jack, a couple of jack stands and a spring compressor you can rent for free from autozone. Should take 3hrs or so

A lot of people replace the upper strut mounts to avoid the popping sound, but I run FRPP springs and D-specs and luckily do not have the noise.

Do you already have the springs installed? Do you have an adjustable panhard? If not, is your rear axle centered?

For mechanically inclined, yes. For me? 6 hrs.

I gave this a lot of thought. I finally went w/FRPP because they match the springs and the roads that I drive are in good shape. My SVO has Koni reds that are set pretty stiff, so I believe that I'll be able to live with the change.

My rear axle didn't move at all, so I didn't get a panhard bar. The springs have been in for a year. I do have the "pop", but only on speed bumps, it doesn't happen any other time, but I will change the strut mounts with the TSB replacement units. What I was concerned with were the fasteners that claim one time use; which ones get changed and which ones can be reused?

Agreed, they are designed as part of a system, not simply a generic "heavy duty" parts option.
