my 2006 has my color dash am i able to hook illuminted sill into this or is it only ambient lighting it can be connected to for colors to switch?

Try this one, it works on cars with or without ambient lighting. I don't know if you can switch the colors on the fly, but in a non A/L equipped car they say you can pick from 4 colors

They're a nice touch. I've added OEM ones to my 08GT (light up Dark Blue) and the 2012 6'er (light up Red).

 

I have an ambient light 08, are the wires under the trim or do you have to run wires?

 

I'm not sure they can tie into the Ambient Lighting on the pre-2010's. I pulled the power from the dome light wires in the passenger side pillar. My color is fixed to Blue for the GT to match the Blue led swap and Red for the 6'er to match the exterior.
