Installing delete plates, is the valve motor needed?
Is there really anything keeping me from just removing the motor for the factory butterfly valves? From what I understand, you disconnect the motor anyhow, does it really need to stay there? I am kind of flying blind putting these things in, as I got the ones from Ford.

Tom, I did read through that thread, and it was helpful once I got down into the nitty gritty of the install. I appreciate the replies.
And on a different note, I went to upload my new tune from Doug onto my Xcal2, and noticed this one is in .ll3 format. The first tune he sent me about a year ago was in the .xtr format. Do I need to update my Xcal, or do I need the other format?? I already emailed Doug, but I need my car in the morning and I want to give myself the best chance possible of getting an answer tonight!

With the stock cmrc plates, even when the butterflies are wide open, there is still a restriction there. The bar that the butterflies are riveted to is still an obstruction in the airway and it causes turbulence. Lack of cmrc's also allows for a more aggressive tune. These are one of the best mods you can do to these cars.
