Yea,

Actually, I am waiting to see what the consensus is on the best way to fix the short MAF sensor and how much of a performance gain the "ram" tray offers over the basic kit.

Time is running out though.

OK, I received a reply from outerwearsracing. They don't have anything this size and asked me to send them the filter itself so they can make an accurate cold air condom. I haven't received my intake yet but I don't mind being the guinnea pig on this and shipping them my filter once I receive it. Unless someone who already has theirs would like to ship right away and not wait for me to get mine?

E-mail is below:

Mike,
I don't show that I have anything for this size. Can you send me one of the filters? If you send it to us I can make sure that the Pre-filter is designed properly. Please let me know if you can provide us with the filter. You can expect to have the custom made Pre-filter designed built and shipped to you in about 2 weeks. The address that you can send it to is Outerwears, Inc.
12611 US HWY 131
Schoolcraft, MI 49087

Please include in the package your name address and phone number.

Thank you,

Steve Giebel

Or is anyone with this intake near Schoolcraft MI and can stop in?

Mike

Mike,

If they make them in our size, I'll take one! I remember when a few of the air filter companies sold them with the filter, and you are right about cleaning this thing instead of cleaning [or replacing] that large weird filter!

I haven't gotten mine yet either, and I'm way out in SoCal...

Mike

If they could cut that time down to under 2 weeks, I could send mine out as soon as Friday, I''ll even send it express. Just depends on when I couls squeeze into the dyno.

This is coming together nicely

S, I sent Steve/OWRACING an e-mail about that and am awaiting his response. I got mine yesterday too! Man, you weren't kidding about the oil. One entire corner of the box is stained from it, right through to the outside. I won't be able to ship mine out until Saturday the earliest so if you send yours I'll help you out with the cost of express shipping to/from OWRACING.

Mike,
The two week time frame is tentative. This is the time frame that we are currently at for new products and custom orders in house. If I can get it out the door sooner I of course will do so. Unfortunately I can't promise you a date of when we can get it out the door. We run on a first in first out system. We are excellent at what we do here so I assure you we will build it as soon as we can.

Thank you,

Steve Giebel

Mike,

They are going to make them available "commercially", right? So the rest of us can buy them too, right?

Got the PM, U have one in return.
Told ya'...those filters are too wet with oil!! I used K&N cleaner and washed it good, still stayed pink, but not drenched.
As for outerwears..all they need is one for a template, and Im sure they would stock it, cant see why not.

Check your filters for excessive oil...MAF+oil=

I hope they know this filter will require more a few one off's. I would bet that 90% that buy this kit, would spend the 20-30 bucks for a pre-filter. Cant see them charging much more than that for the outerwear.

Either way, Im game

Yep. Once they design the master they will issue it a part # and then anyone can order it.

Mike,
I did receive the filter. My design engineer tells me that it should be able to leave here by Tuesday the 20th.

Thanks,

Steve Giebe

Since they now have it I think it's ok to start calling. Anyone interested in a water resistant pre-filter to cover their WMS filter please call Steve at (800) 967-3450.

Thanks,
Mike

Mikeelia and 05STG1 . . . .

Thank you both for all your work and personal sacrifices on the custom construction of the cold air condom !

I ordered mine today even though the company treated you the way they did . . . just couldn't help myself . . . sorry .

Maybe if they get enough business they'll reconsider the freebie ?
