Installed Steeda CAI w/ BAMA TUNE...W/PIC
Just installed my Steeda high flow intake. Very smooth install. I was going slow to make sure I didnt miss anything and it only took a little over an hour.
Just as I finished tightening the last screw, UPS arrived with my X3 from Bama. Loaded the 92race tune and went for a drive.
HOLY SHEEET is what I said. It really feels like a different motor was dropped in over night. Much throatier sounding, alot more power and the shifting points are insane.
I went out to a flat long road and took off. Spun like crazy in first, went sideways when shifting into 2nd and then broke lose in 3rd.
Its a whole new car. Many thanks to Steeda and Doug at Bamachips.

Good new Colby!!! You need to update your signature with your next level of mods now that you have achieved level #1. It truly is an addiction.

The tunes are as explained before. How do you want your car? Do you want it to run ***** out?
1) go to your gas station. see what the highest octane is.
2) figure out who you want to do the tunes. (bamachips, brenspeed, tillmans)
3) go to their website and order a tuner and specify what tunes you want.
4) pay
5) download from tuner, into car (takes about 3-5 mins)
6) feel an entire new car (30+hp at the rear wheels is quite a bit)
I ordered 89 peformance, 91 torque and 92 race tunes. (using 92 race tune)
Ya, also what he said. It really does toss you back in your seat. From a dead stop, if I burp the throttle it will spin. And intake definitely whistles more and the rest is deep and throaty sounding..
Are you kidding? only 30hp? thats 10% and feels so much better throughout the poertrain.
The other half is retuning your throttle response, because everything reacts pretty slow from the factory for emissions reasons.
Yeah as mentioned by the others, its not just the power it puts out. Its the way the throttle responds after the install and tune. If you push hard on your stock GT throttle, it almost feels like the car has to think before it decides to give you that much power.
Once you CAI and Tune it, I dare you to push hard on your pedal
. First time I did it after my install, I span out in the parking lot of my apartment, lol.

Are you serious? Some people have seen close to that rwhp wise with a 93 octane tune. To me an intake with a tune gaining that much hp is the best bang for the buck for a begining modification.

Throttle lag is gone alright. Now I have to retrain my foot to go easier on the gas.
