Interesting....
Do you (or anybody) have the 'alignment-screw' in the end of the mid-pipe about 1.5 inches from the end where the muffler pipe slides over? I noticed this screw limits the amount of adjustment I can make as the muffler pipe is notched to fit around it.
So when you snugged the muffler pipes onto the mid-pipe, did you slide it up the midpipe as far as possible?

Yup, that's what I did... Make sure you tighten the heck outta that clamp too... You should have tight enough that the whole assembly is rigid (like one piece) and there is no play at the coupling.. I bang aroung with a rubber mallet and see if I get any other sounds than a solid "Klunnngggg"....

Here are some photos that may help... The best thing to do is to loosen up the whole ehaust system from the cats back, install the mufflers, then lightly tighten everything down so that you can still move and twist things around to get the exhaust trumpets centered... once that's completed tourque everything down....

After hours of :bang: , your idea about loosening the clamp on the midpipe (pic shown above) solved my alignment and interference issues. We loosened those 2 bolts, rolled that whole driver-side of the mid-pipe, and the muffer, way down there at the other end of the car, lined up MUCH better, and away form the bracket. I never thought to look that far up the line.
