Installed 17 lb Aluminim Driveshaft / Kenne Bell Inspection
Put in Powerhouse Aluminum one piece driveshaft. It's very thick, roughly 1 1/2 times the diameter of the stock driveshaft. Took out second driveshaft loop. Left the front loop which barely clears the driveshaft, maybe 1/8 "- 1/4 " max clearance. A little worried by possible rubbage over bumps and hard cornering but so far so good. Driveshaft looks real heavy duty. Driveline sounds louder though and I can't figure out why. I would think it would be the opposite.
Have had a good experience over the last three weeks with newly installed B&M Shifter. Very precise but not too notchy. Also had to install Tokico adjustable shocks to lighten up the ride. Previous stock shocks with Steeda Springs put my back out of commision for a week.
Saw a Kenne Bell Supercharger being installed into a 2005 Saleen GT at Extreme Automotive in Canoga Park. Very impressive. The one I saw was chrome. Didn't realize how heavy it was when I tried to lift it. The guy putting it in guestimated the whole assembly weighed two hundred pounds. To me it looked bullet proof. Money was no object for the owner who was switching over from a Vortech T-trim on which he was running some 15 lbs of boost. Did your driveability change with the lighter driveshaft? I've heard that removing that much rotating mass really "lightens up" the car, but have never been able to feel it firsthand.
Also, where did you buy the one piece driveshaft? I've done some half hearted searching and have come up empty, but I wasn't really trying too hard. Much easier to ask someone else. [img]style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/04.gif[/img]

Really hard to tell because I put some Tokicos on at the same time. My suspension is pretty built up with steeda sport springs, swaybars, strut tower brace, steeda UCA, Metco LCA, so it drove pretty good before. Can't say that it's lighter but darn the car is performing real good right now. It seems as if I spool through the RPM's quicker. Also noticeable difference in 5th gear. Car just seems quicker. Currently there are two cites selling these driveshafts powerhouse911.com and JPC racing. They are too expensive imo ($699-725)but what the heck.

Don, Funny you should ask this question but they are Granatelli loops in fact J.R himself sold them to me when I was over at Extreme. I don'; think he anticipated the large diameter of powerhouse's driveshaft. I think it will be okay though. By the way I''ll sell you my rear loop for the cost of shipping if your interested. (although I doubt it.) It's actually a decent enough part I just don't need it anymore.

I already have front and rear Metco DSLs, so I don't need any... thanks anyway. I'm sure someone here could use the loop. I'm just wondering if I'll have clearance issues as well. Do you have any pics of the loops? I'd like to compare the design of mine versus yours.

BTW... does anyone other than JPC and Powerhouse make a direct fit alum shaft? I know JPC and Powerhouse have great reputations and they track test these shafts. Just curious if anyone else is making one. I don't have the time to get the pieces and have a one made up myself, so I'm looking to just buy a proven version.
