Increased NVH with aftermarket strut mounts?

I recently installed the J & M camber plates, which resolved my "strut popping" issue. However, now there is noticeably more NVH being transmitted through the chassis. Seems like I can feel and hear the slightest road imperfection. I guess it makes sense since the factory mounts are plastic vs. the aftermarket metal ones.

How many of you guys with aftermarket strut mounts (Steeda, J & M, etc.) have this? Would some better struts improve this?

Although I do not have them, I can assure you that what you are experiencing is normal.

The metal doesn't have any cushion to them.

I have the J&M mounts and there is indeed more noise. At high speed it is not an issue as the road noise/wind/etc. drowns out the noise from the J&M mounts. While it may be normal, I'm going to revert back to the revised stock mount (Part Number 8R3Z-18183-B) because the noise I'm hearing at low speed is annoying.
