Hey there Tim! The main question is, did you have fun???? Then practice and more $$$$ should help I'm guessing.

My first & second time at track I did best of 13.4 @ 103mph. That's with tune, CAI, 4.10 gears and the secret weapon........an automatic.

I'm going one last time on final day of track on the 26th. I hope cool weather could help times for me.
But the fun, is were it's at for me. Oh yea, beating the Charger and Challenger R/T's is a big bonus! Haven't tried a Camero yet.

Keep it up Bud! Have'n fun that is.

I was able to get consistent 13.5-7 @ 104-107 previously on street tires, but this past weekend I just couldn't get them to hook at all.

Fastest I could get this weekend was 14.3 trapping at 102-103...it was about 100*F ambient, though.

All of these are launching around 3000RPM, slipping the clutch. Lots of 2.3-2.4 60' times. Pretty miserable.

Minor profanity at 0:09 due to my general frustration with running 14s all night.

More spinning...

My first run of the night, aborted after going sideways in 2nd gear...

I am going to focus on improving my driving. I spend enough on road race tires as it is, no need to sink another $800 for some DRs and wheels.

Ha Ha... as bad as you think you ran I only saw a car in the other lane on your aborted run.

Those little fishtails you were pulling off scared the hell out of me! It's all practice, practice, practice...

Yeah that was my girlfriend in her HONDA ELEMENT . I lifted, and caught traction in 2nd, realized the run was shot, so I went from 2nd to 4th and just cruised the rest of the run in 4th gear.

Yeah--I would prefer NOT to be fishtailing on the 1-2 shift...I am going to shift a little easier there from now on. I am used to an extended chirp, but now with my latest tune it is just "light up the tires" on a hard shift.

This is how I spend most of my time:

On a stock car (stock tires too) I got a 1.9 60' as a 17 year old with no racing experience. Just takes some experimenting.

You went to the track, great

NOW you see how much more there is to it! LOL!

The more you go, the more you learn; about your car, yourself, mods.

The track will save you $$; see mods that work.

Great job, keep us posted!

I hate racing on street tires. Especially here where the track really doesn't prep on TNT nights and the atmosphere doesn't help one bit either, its really difficult. The best 60 i've pulled so far on my ET Streets in a 1.9 or 1.8 and on street tires a 2.1.

We were out tuning a couple cars a few weeks ago so we borrowed the dragstrip. We all decided to have some fun and make a couple passes. No times, no tree so we were all flagged.
