Weather and density altitude play a big roll...your mph seems a bit low since your car has the supercharger on it. 2.3 60' isn't HORRIBLE by any means....look at it this way, if your just now getting into it you are off to a good start and can practice practice practice. Did you brother have the vette out there?

If stock...Tires! (I'm of course assuming you have a loop....otherwise loop, THEN tires. :P )

Try letting a little air out.

After that, suspension.

I think you're suffering from the same problem I am:

lack of experience. In my modded bullitt the best I've pulled off to date is a 14.4, which is atrocious when you consider a good driver can hit 13.9 in a GT (this is SN95s mind you)

but you also have to consider that my best time, the 14.4, was still only my 6th run down the 1320. I'd say practice is the thing you and i need most, but any mod that reduces wheelspin can't hurt

Practice makes perfect, but put some sticky tires on there! Between my JLT and non-custom tune for 91 and my MT ET Streets, I dropped nearly a second. .5 of that was from the tires alone. Suspension is a must after that. All the power in the world doesn't mean a **** thing if you can't put it to the ground.

Yup stock tires, 30,000 + miles on em, all 4 were at 35 PSI. Stock suspension. 5 speed.

I also ran a .592 R/T with
i1: 2.226
i2:6.541
i3:9.806
E.T 15.069
MPH 94.862

I took off T/C and spun the tires all the through first, and still spun when I hit the rev limiter in second.

Stickier tires would help a lot, so would suspension, even just LCA's/relocation brackets. I'm pretty sure your car is experiencing considerable wheel hop in it's current state at the track.

you mean this wheel hop???? From first into second??

Yup even with 3/4 throttle, second gear, all the tires did was spin.

I think so.

It's awesome how you smoked the vette.

I suck too although not as bad as you :P

I've tried launching at different RPMs and feathering the clutch as opposed to dumping it and I still can't do better than a 13.5. I wish I could have someone who's good at it drive my car and figure out the right way to launch it and then tell me how. I'm eventually going to get some sticker and wider tires but I just want to know how fast she is with the stock tires.

Get Et streets and some uca/lca combo. That will help alot with the traction, where almost literally it will depend on your shifting ability.
On street tires I couldn't do better than 2.2's or so. With et streets and 295rwhp i get 1.8's

best on street tires are 13.7 103, with the ET streets 13.11 104

Wow, those ET streets make a HUGE difference.

any drag radial is your friend when it comes to traction in a straight line.

a good street tire can do wonders as well.

I think im still the poster child of why tires alone aren't the end of the world lol. I'm running pretty good street tires (goodyear eagle F1 DSG3s) but my lack of skill still keeps me in the 14 second range when I KNOW my car is good for mid 13s.

I'm also in need of the driver mod. My very first time on the track in my Bullitt (stock) I ran the advertised 14.1 @ 99mph, but I chalk it up to beginner's luck. Every subsequent run has been slower to the point where I just stopped going to the track altogether.

Looks like it's already been said several times now, but yeah, you're next best bet is tires. Then suspension. Invest in a good set of drags and make sure you get them good and hot before each run.

+1, the suspension will mostly aid in curing wheel hop(this usually pertains to LCA's, UCA's, and UCA Mounts) and allowing harder launches that will also be straighter.
