OMG, I need help and quick.

I cant, for the life of me, disconnect the steering linkage to get the driverside header into place. The instructions say to just pull the linkage up about 1/2" and then back and it should come out of the U Joint. I can pull the linkage out about 1/2" and then nothing. I dont know what to do.

Go under the steering column under the dash inside the car. There you will find a 1/2" head bolt or 13mm if I remember correctly, remove that bolt and you should be able to push the shaft through a little, then crawl back under the car and you can pull it out enough to pass your header.

That did the trick, thank you so much.

Those $%&#ing instructions are so bad. Mechanical know how... I have that but apparently you need a little luck too, I have none of that.

BTW, the instructions also tell you to cut the H Pipe 4" after the hangers, guess what though, its too short. You need to measure at least 5" from the end of the welded hanger bracket. I might have to buy a new mid pipe now.

Guess we won't hear that "open header" clip tonight, eh?

Not tonight cause its after 10pm. I finally had to fire it up for like 20 seconds so I could move the car from across the street into my driveway.

IT SOUNDS SO $%&#ING AWESOME, ITS MENACING.

My H-Pipe is short of the Collector so I have some more work to do tomorrow. I might have to drive it into a local exhaust shop so they can weld me in some extensions or something.

I'll fire it up again in the morning and take the clip, I may need someone to step back about 20 feet though, this $%&#ers loud.

An uncorked Modular sounds like an old school big block btw.

One more thing, copied from my main install thread...

Can I just have my tuner turn off the rear oxygen sensors so I dont have to connect the harnesses? I'd rather not have to wait on a part to arrive on Tuesday.
