That'll teach em huh. There's nothing like getting blinded out by some ***** that thinks they need ridiculously bright headlights. Then to make it worse you get pissed off when someone flashes you, who do you think you are anyways. Its pretty pathetic you think your cool because of your stupid headlights, what a dork, get a life.
Wow, trying to win friends? First, the fogs on the 6 are aimed down and out. I run them because I drive alot of country roads with little or no lighting and the fogs provide a wider illumination field than the lows alone. Second, because of the way they are aimed, they really aren't any brighter from the perspective of oncoming drivers. They flash their brights only because they see four lights instead of two. How do I know ? When I first bought the car I had someone else drive it toward me with and without the fogs to see just how bright it was before I started driving it that way.

Next time you might want to ask a few questions before you start calling people names. :notnice:

My first question when I read the opening post has been asked already - can't you AIM them? If you are getting flashed while running your fog lights, then THEY ARE AIMED TOO DANG HIGH!

Fog lights by design should illuminate the road and surrounding area at a low level, certainly below the eyeline of approaching drivers. If your fog lights are making others flash their brights at you, then you need to adjust them, simple as that.

But I also concur with what others have said - just because you have a brand new 2005 Mustang with poorly aimed lights does NOT entitle you to jeaporadize the safety of oncoming drivers! Be a responsible and safe driver and lower your lights if they offend the other drivers out there!

It's not that hard to figure out.

They're only Flashing you 'cause they automaticaly think because they see 4 Lights at Headlight Level that you have your brights on. Flash them Back and 9 times out of ten they'll stop it.

Exactly what I was thinking. Also, many people assume Fog Lights are yellow-ish, and don't realize you can have Clear Fog lights.

I do agree though, leave them off unless you really need them.

Bingo! In reality, problably 95% of the oncoming drivers don't do anything because it isn't that bright. It's the 5% that see four lights and assume it's brights that flash them at you.

here in the UK it's illegal to run your fog lights unless there is fog, a friend of mine got a ticket for it the other week. not that it really makes any diffrence for most of you.

I'd run with them. I see people running everything from green to purple lights here all the time without anyone making a fuss. Pickup trucks with 18 bright lights on at night coming from behind you? You betcha!

If the regular headlights are of the same quality as the 99+ cars the fogs might actually help you see much better. I'd have to actually drive one first though before deciding though.

My preference for running them at night is better visibility of my car to other drivers. I hate it when someone doesn't see you and pulls into your lane.

Just be thankful they aren't DRLs like GM uses.

When I watched the test on Motorweek on Speed TV, They were running with fogs on. As the Stang when over the road imperfections, The headlamps had a more flash that might be annoying, than the fogs.

I'm used to getting that from oncoming drivers in my Jeep. I've got the driving/fog lights in the lower valance too but I still get the flash/ routinely. I run with the driving lights because I'm on country roads as well. Won't take to long getting used to driving the GT with the fogs on I guess!!!

Really? How much less could you care?

Or, did you possibly mean "I could not possibly care any less than I do now (i.e., "I couldn't care less") about what anyone else thinks"?

Just havin' some fun!

I run the fogs all the time in all my cars to be seen better, cause here in central FL drivers are terrible and pull out in front of you if they think they have the slightest chance to get by.I didn't want this to turn into a argument so lets keep it a friendly discussion(you know who you are).I think once peeps get aquainted with the new GT it will subside a bit.Fogs are not overly bright, but like another poster said , some drivers see 4 lights and assume your brights are on.

Not a bad reason, especially if it's raining or visibility is somehow limited, but otherwise, don't see how 2 extra lights is going to keep someone with 4,500 pounds of SUV from plowing into you. You'll be at the pearly gates telling St. Peter "but I had my fog lights on, I swear!!"

I think part of the problem is all 4 lights are at the same level. If the fogs were down low, people probably wouldn't think they were high-beams.

Maybe if they were wig-wag blue and red flashers...(CHP, don't get any ideas).

I knew that would happen as well. I plan on driving with them on. If they are not smart enough to know they are not bright lights they will get the point when I flash them back. I am sure by the end of next summer they will be use to the new GT's.
