I'll definitely hold back and wait for more info before I buy this intake.

I know that intakes for 2V 4.6's are pretty pricey

The 40HP they quoted sound to be based on theoretical airflow done on a computer, as opposed to dyno numbers.

I'm not knocking their product by any means, I'd just like to see more information

Ya I would like to see more info on this before jumping all over it. It really wouldnt surprise me if the intake was upwards of $900. When you look at the 99-04 Bullitt intake was $750 or so, now take into account 05+ Mustang prices on mods, its going to be through the roof.

Yep..... and that Bullit intake was worth what, 10 horses? 20 if you were blown?? I bet this intake will be outta site for the first 18 months but I hope I'm wrong.

Longer runner length generally increases torque at lower RPM range.

FAST also made a similar style intake for the LS1, so this seems a natural. No, it is not "cheap" either.

From what I can see, the stock intake manifold on the S-197 GT isn't a significant restriction. I could see deleting the CMCV flaps and shafts being less restrictive for those cars that see a lot of track time. However, increasing the length of the runners and by enlarging the diameters in the space available seems like it would increase low end torque w/o significantly improving the high end performance (maybe 0-10 hp max) but the low end torque should increase due to the longer runners.

If you look at the N/A intake manifold on the 5.4 quad-cam V8 used on the Navigator, it looks like an alien rat maze and traditionally the intakes used on modular motors in trucks/vans have much longer runners to optimize the powerband for a heavier vehicle.... I could be wrong.

I'd like to see, althought it would be heavier, an alluminum intake for our 05/06 Mustangs... call me old school but I don't trust plastic.

I'll take one if I can afford it! I'm all about some easy bolt-on horsepower if the price is right. I'm trying to get my GT to over 300 rwhp on bolt-ons. Only got twenty hp to go!

hmmm, 40hp for 800 doesn't sound too bad to me! The CAI/tune combo is around 600 for less power.

Wow, that is nice and it is a three peice design? Man, I was in that booth and didn't even see that product. There's so much to see at Sema, they should have a board out front of each booth detailing the contents, hahaa.

As for the aluminum intake, there is another company working on just that. It was on display at the MCA meet in B'ham .
