HTzero Plugs Installed, Stock Plugs Found Punished
So, my Vortech 3v Plug Indexer finally arrived today so I finally got around to installing the new Autolite HTzeros (HT0). The index is pictured below in all its glory. :P

Anyways, as I pulled the stock plugs from the heads I noticed a striking similarity between the 8, they were all victim to far too much timing when using the juice. These plugs, seen below, have a total of 8 passes while spraying. I have not heard any give away to the condition of the plugs or noticed any change in performance under WOT for the past 4000 miles, my first spray was on the dyno just after rolling 10k on the odometer.
By looking at these plugs Im atleast happy that my A/F ratio has been solid but the lack of a ground strap is worrysome. I wasnt ready to use the nitrous again anyways when I return to the track next week due to the torque converter lockup in 4th.
When I get this baby back on the dyno the computer will be set up with a nitrous only tune with the timing pulled out for another baseline with the 100 shot jets. Hopefully the new HTzeros wont look like this when I pull them out after that run.
Remember though, Im on the quest for the full use here, 150 shot when I return to the dyno.

Holy Crap man! nice work- seriously though thats amazing that it was still running as well as you say. Hopefully the combo of slightly colder plug and less timing will keep it safe. btw where did you get the 3v indexer? -Jan
You do not need that indexer.Just the right socket and a vise with gauge wire.
WOW. I have made 20 or so passes with 125hp shot and only have plugs that show a rich condition. I have some surging in 3rd gear over 5K but the car still runs 11.80's. I took my 93 octane tune from MDmotorsports and I retarded the timing 4 degrees total in all RPM ranges, I shouldn't have to pull that much out but I have been extra cautious. I did purchase new plugs anticipating this problem but havent had to replace them yet.
Cleveland, what gap did you use on your new HT0's?

I wonder what the tops of your pistons look like.....

that`s a good question....
I've been away a while...Man, sorry to see what looks like Billy-Bob teeth where your spark plug's were.
Are you going to do a compression/leak down test? I hope the colder plug's cure the problem. I just saw the grenaded clutch pic's and IMO you have the number one spot for carnage pic's...

Wow.....
Just a tip: I always pulled one or 2 of my plugs after a run or two on teh spray. Just to check it out and make sure everything looked normal. Also on the dyno when we didnt have a datalogger hooked up.
