How's your stang performing in the heat ?

Some of you are experiencing really hot weather.

It was super hot in S. California a few weeks ago.

I noticed a big difference in power in extreme heat. I would estimate I lose up to 10% of the maximum power during extremely hot weather. I think A/C is partially responsible for the power loss but I think the engine is also producing less power too.

I totally agree. Mine feels the same way, much more sluggish, but I then put in 89 octane and it seemed to help a little so I suspect maybe the system is retarding the spark when it's soo hot?

I thought it was only me, seemed to be running weak. I was going to take it to the dealer to make sure everything was AOK, kind of sucks.

With 95-115 temps in a good part of the country, were all seeing and feeling the results. This is NOT HP making weather that's for sure!!!

I am in Colorado, And I notice a problem when it gets over 95 to 100 degrees . I am already at a disadvantage , with the altitude but the heat sure doesnt help either . It is just one of those things you put up with , when you have a high performance car .

That's because it's a dummy gauge. It will read the same whether the coolant is at 180 degrees or 230 degrees. It won't really move until it's close to 240 or above.

I was datalogging last weekend and I was logging manifold air temps of 90-92 degrees with an ambient temp of 90 degrees. I assume quality built CAIs do keep the intake temps down close to ambient in about all conditions. With the AC on my coolant never got above 194 degrees in stop and go traffic or on the open road on a 30 mile trip. It was humid as hell too. I also have a bottle of Red Line Water Wetter in the radiator and I had the 91 octane tune from JMS installed with 93 octane gas. No knock or hesitation with a solid 27.5-28.5 degrees total timing in 3rd in those hot conditions too. I guess everyone is loosing 15-25 HP in these conditions....bring on the cooler weather!

The computer definately pulls timing in the heat. Guess that's better than detonation. LOL. Fall will be here soon. I find myself babying the car in this extreme heat down here in Mempho.

The heat kills power. The best I could muster up at the track a couple of weeks ago in 92 degree heat(alltitude of 2200') was 14.46 at 98 mph. I know she'll run in the high 13's on a cooler day. When the temp is in the mid-high 60's the car pulls much harder. Years ago my 69 428CJ Mach 1(street tires and crap 60' times) could only manage 14.60's at 101 at 90 degree + temp but would run 13.80's at 107 at temps around 70 degrees.

My supercharged car is doing fine in the Texas heat, although I can't wait for some cooler weather to see how much it helps. Still, I'm surprised at how well it goes in 100 degree heat, and thankfully there are no issues to address.

this south texas heat sux we're usually at around 100 degrees everyday. car feels sluggish everyday so i usually take it real easy on her and when i can not use her. cant wait for the fall, but even then it only gets around 70 degrees except for those occasional cold fronts from the north

I have to say, I think this two stage intercooler for the Saleen works pretty darn well......

The air temp sensor is mounted right next to the front of the driver side fuel rail (or thereabouts) and I remembered that my 05 used to run hot, especially when it was baking out.....

We have had hot days past few weekends and last weekend I did almost three hours continuous driving in really blazing sun and the air temp gauge got up to 175 or so I believe but didn't go any higher....
