Assuming it doesn't blow up, I'm guessing around Tom's and Superfly's predictions.

Keep in mind, my kit is non-cooled with the stock pulley.
Good luck buddy!!!!

This is a good point guys. Non-intercooled/cooled units face a higher risk of detonation at higher PSI's. So (especially with CA 91 octane fuel) hp is going to be held back from the pulley and the fact that it's not cooled.

The video.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JcdJ56kBixU

My criteria was that I want to drive it all day and drop the hammer at will with no issues, and this is what I got.

Q: Whats up with the low numbers?
A1: No intercooler. Without the IC, IAT was thru the roof, timing had to be pulled back, and more fuel had to be added to keep it safe. Greg made the decision to keep the A/F at 11.5 as well as pull timing and keep it conservative.

A2: Low compression forged pistons is hurting me right now at this given boost level (made 10 psi today) and being non-IC'd. Greg said that 0.1 in compression ratio equates to around 10hp, so that makes sense in comparing my 9.0:1 versus 9.3 or 9.4:1 factory.

Q: What happened to the Brenspeed tune?
A: We loaded it for 1 pull. It made more power/torque than RET's tune, but Greg shut it down at around 4500-5000 rpm's because timing went to ~18deg and A/F at 12.5ish. No doubt the Brenspeed tune is very aggressive and will probably produce the advertised numbers, but Greg advised against running it because he didn't want to see me pull my motor for the 3rd time.

Q: Can I run a smaller pulley and install an IC for more power?
A: Yes and yes! In fact Greg said that my motor can sustain 16-18 psi of boost and run a more aggressive timing ONLY with an IC, then will my 9.0:1 pistons will start to shine.

Q: So what's stopping me from upgrading?
A: Duh.

Not that it really matters, but the Uncorrected actual rwhp laid down was 401 at a cool 58 degrees in Downey, CA.

So in summary, all appears to be running good and the car feels hella fast to me. It's nice to finally have closure to my bad mojo.

Congratulations Bill on getting what you wanted and getting the car back on the road again.

I sure hope they didn't get anything dirty while they were working on your car.

Congrats! Glad you have a safe tune and you can venture into boostland all you want! So are you forgetting about the meth and upgrading to the IC if you ever decide to?

Want to jump in here and say congrats Bill!

Also would like to add the disclaimer that I ran the Brenspeed tune with this setup for some time and had zero problems with reliability, and made just under 440 to the tires. I am not trying to take away from Bill's setup or his tuner's thoughts, but merely stating that the opinion of Bill's tuner is just that- an opinion- and Bill chose to err on the side of caution when no doubt additional power could be made with this setup if wanted.

Again, congrats Bill! Now go make some killer vids!

Congrats Bill,

It's all about YOU. You can always add MORE at any time. I suggest you are going in the right direction. You have to learn the car at 380HP and then move up in the boost and add the IC. Most guys can't drive with the box stock 300 crank Hp. I've seen your videos, so I know you were ready for this.

Okay...I'm glad I got a chance to guess on what Bill's car will do on the dyno today. This is only a guess on my part. "I am guessing 387 rwhp and 354 rwtq." Is there any prize for the guy that guess's the closest? I hope it's something nice. Can't wait to get the results. Go get'm Bill!! I am just glad to see you back on the road after your ordeal. You deserve better than you have been dealt. So let the best guess win!!!
Scott

Sure, that's not a problem. Remember, Bill's shortblock runs way less compression than our stock 281's.
