In actual city driving, I think 10.9mpg is OK. I get about 5-6mpg in the city, or about 8mpg if I try really.

BTW, I differentiate between "city" (place with tall buildings and a stop light every 0.1 miles) and "local" (most of suburbia, where traffic lights are 0.5-2 miles apart). In a "city" the speed limit is typically 25mph.

On "local roads," I get about 6mpg worst case, 10mpg average, and 16mpg using every trick in the book. So 10.9 isn't that bad. Or maybe we have duds.

The computer is pretty accurate. I've done the numbers myself several times and the computer is dead nuts every time.

I calculate it by hand because I don't have a trip computer in the 07 GT. It didn't come with one

BTW my Crown Vic gets 17-18 MPG doing the same trips as the Mustang which gets 22-23 MPG (mixed hwy/city). The Crown Vic can get 25-28 MPG on the highway if it has 2.73 rear gears, but my 3.55s keep the engine (4.6L 2V V8) purring at 2500-3000 RPM at highway speeds in overdrive. My GT runs at 2000 RPM doing 65 MPH.

I'm afraid I am getting exactly what the Computer is telling me

Perhaps you guys who are not getting accurate results have a flawed method?

Mine is quite accurate too.
As a matter of fact, the gallons used meter almost always matches the gallons pumped too... Like I said I log every fill up, and always fill the tank when I fuel up.

Total miles
Gallons pumped
Dollar amount
MPG meter
Trip miles
Date

I can refer to this log and manually calculate every tank full from the very first one, for everyone of my vehicles. I'm afraid you will find out I am getting nearly exactly what the Computer is telling me every time..

That sounds like what I get with the 3.55s. Do you have the TR-3650 or 5R55S?

I have a 7 mile commute of mostly back country roads to work with one stop light, then maybe 2 miles of city'ish driving to the gym after work, and then the 9 miles back home. She usually gets around 20-22 mpg. If I really try I can squeek out 24mpg, but I didn't buy a stang for the mpgs.

The best I've seen is 29.2mpg on a trip home from Ohio to South Jersey.

My average when I was commuting to work before when I had to drive an hour on the interstate each way was 24mpg @ 75MPH (michigan limit is 70). When I moved, I was following my dad hauling the trailer at a normal distance away, but was going 60mph on the interstate was was getting 30mpg.

Now that I live in the city I work in, and am only 5 minutes and 5 stoplights away from work, I am getting 14mpg. But its nice that I don't have to fill up 3 times a week. I only fill $20 once a week now.

Bullitt picks up 26.5 mpg

We went to visit my daughter in Minneapolis this weekend. 24.5 mpg heading west and 26.5 mpg coming home. Sweet!

Today a semi decided that he finally wanted to get around another semi when I was just feet away from him. I don't know why they decide to pass when you get right on them, when they had plenty of time before you get there and want to pass them yourself. So since I was on his tail anyway, I hit the rest switch on the MPG, and I was getting 48MPG. As soon as he moved over it shot down to 26.

Best case I get 25mpg highway and city (driving like a idiot always) I get 17mpg. If I drove like a whiteman I'm sure I could get 19ish mpg city.

I've been getting 15mpg on my work commute in LA (bad traffic), and on the open freeway I get about 25-26. I've got 4.10's, stick, and 10psi whipple.
