hit reset and see what it says...also what kind of terrain are you driving in? hills will degrage it quite a bit.

that sounds a bit low, 18-20 is normal, I believe. But I've heard of up to 25-26

I drive on pretty flat terrain (L.A.).

Mostly city driving.

Should I be concerned about my low MPGs?

Or maybe your foot. Do you floor it every time you leave from a stop?

My driving style is on the aggressive side but even factoring that, my MPGs should not be that low I would think. I have the MPG rating of an SUV !!!

I get maybe 10-11 city and 21 or so highway....

My city driving is, however, very short runs of less than 10 miles and a lot of stops.

I drive kinda aggressively but not too much. It's hard not to, ya know ?

The best I ever got was a trip from So Cal to Pismo Beach right after I bought the car. I was 26mpg I think using cruise control the whole way except for going over the pass past before vandenberg

I got 30 driving out to El Paso doing 80. That was the average after 3 hours of smooth driving.

I think it's about 20 right about now... But on average, I get, every time, right at 18. Sometimes a little less, sometimes a little more. And that's a commute MPG average, btw, traffic lights and all the warts. I have a 5 speed, so I dunno if that helps, but I sure do like the ability to take it outta gear and coast instead of be under power when I have to slow down...

what gears do you have? that often makes a large difference
someone doing 70mph at 3000rpm is going to use more fuel than someone doing 70mph at only 2250 rpm

My incredible fuel mileage for perspective...

I couldn't be happier with my high performance V-8 Mustang's incredible fuel mileage...

On the highway the 315 horsepower Bullitt gets over 27 MPG on Regular 87 Octane.
3.73/1 gears 5 speed manual transmission

On the highway the 500 horsepower GT500 gets between 22 and 24 MPG on Premium 91 Octane.
3.31/1 gears 6 speed manual transmission 5th and 6th gears are both overdriven.
As you can see it pulls about 1500 RPM at about 55 MPH and about 1800 RPM at about 65 MPH.
It does 80 MPH in second gear...

This is normal Highway driving, at between 55 and 75 miles per hour.

BTW:
My MPG meter readings are very very close to actual mileage.
I reset the trip meter and MPG meter at the gas station at each fill up. I also log the information in a log book and can refer to it to manually calculate any tankful. I don't manually calculate very often anymore because those calculations are always so close to the computer figures...

That describes my driving habits exactly with the same results as you - around 10 or 11 MPG city.

But the difference could be I've got the Whipple. My Mileage in the city (I commute 3 miles one-way to work with about 6 lights) was 12-14 at best before the blower and 23-25 hwy.

Around 15 mpg in the city and about 22 on the highway! Guys and Gals I wouldn't have to much faith in your cars Computer feel good comp mileage estimates !... put a pencil and paper to it...Keep a physical track of your mileage and I'm afraid you will find out your not getting what the Computer is telling you !
