I currently have an 06 GT automatic w a few mods and about to roll over 100,000 miles. Considering i just paid her off and she is finally all mine, I am interested in the vortech package that brenspeed is offering. I have never been to the track and the engine has not been run that hard, that much. just wondering your thoughts.

A low boost kit will do it, I have seen low mileage motors that are in tuff shape. what I would worry about is if the motor has an oil consumption issue, blow by, cooling issues, etc. you can do a compression test, and send an oil sample out which will give an idea on bearing wear and other things. what hurts is when people try and get crazy with boost on a stock motor. then the block, heads gasket/bolts have issues and so on.

These engines should be good for 200k so I say your just getting started, that is if you have taken care of it. The Brenspeed folks know what they are doing for sure. I say go for it.

Definitely plenty of life left if the motor has been well cared for.

Reviving this thread... I plan on putting a SC on mine in a couple years. I will have about 45k on the motor by then. Does this still hold true as long as I don't drive it like I stole it all the time?

I've been SC'd since about 20K and I have a 110k on it now and have never had a problem. I run a safe tune from Steeda and my AF ratio is in the low 11's at WOT, you'll definitely want a wide band gauge so you can monitor it. I'm only running about 8 psi boost since I still have stock internals and I don't usually take it above 6k rpms. I say go for it
