How long will the Ford Racing air filter last?

I may be missing where it has been posted despite searching but does anybody know how long the Bullit CAI air filter will last before it needs to be swapped for a new one?

Depends upon what conditions you drive in. Dusty roads etc will require more frequent changes. The Ford maintenance schedule recommends 30,000 miles under normal conditions. Mine has been on about 8,000 miles and it looks close to what it looked like new.

I should have written my mileage down when I installed mine. It looks pretty dirty so I ordered one up from Summit Racing. Seems just about every site I found that sells them are all $32.

That's what I paid for mine on ebay. The Summit ad says it's cleanable and reusable. I wonder how you clean it.

Regardless of what it looks like I would clean it or change it every 15,000 miles!!!! Err on the save side.

I went ahead and ordered from Summit rather than try to clean mine. I've had K&N filters before and they look nothing like the Bullit one.

Finally got mine from Summit after they kept telling me they were still out of stock. I may have to buy a couple more to keep around. Funny thing is, based upon the color it is tough to tell just how dirty they are. Down in the pleats you can see the dirt collecting a bit.
