  • BG — 3.31 — non-limited slip, base vehicle with manual or automatic transmission
  • CD — 3.55 — limited slip, GT with manual transmission
  • CG — 3.31 — limited slip, GT with automatic transmission
This is located on the sticker by your driver's door, under the Axle code.

Good memory Rocky. That's right, we had to submit that code to Doug for the tunes

05-07+ Auto's are 3.31
05-06 Manuals are 3.55
07+ Manuals are 3.31 (3.55 optional)

i personally am going with a 3.73 or 3.90 for my car since i my car is a daily driver with some track time, but 3.73 are the best all around set, 4.10 for manuals and 3.90 for autos are the max from what i have seen

I don't understand some of your mileage estimates. I have 4:10's and get 18.5 - 19.5 in a lot of stop and go traffic. If I can run around 60-65pmh, I can get up to 24.5 mpg average over a long distance. How are some people getting only 15 or even 12? Granted I can get it down there if I beat on it, but are you guys driving that hard for that long?

That's what I'm wondering. Everything I have read about the car says it gets decent mileage for what it is. 9-12 is abysmal even for city driving.

Unless you're just beating the crap out of the car or live in a very populated city like NY, SF, etc.

That's reassuring. I have a Stealth with a 3.0 V6 and I get 22-23 with it. It's EPA rating is almost the exact same as the GT and the Gt has 120 lbs/ft and 80 horsepower more on regular fuel with less driveline loss. (Either that are the stealth is overrated.) The Stealth requires Premium fuel, too.

My '07 GT Manual is getting 17.5 over 6000 miles so far with 3.55. It is about the same as my '05 V8 4-Runner.

My '00 Crown Vic w/ 3.55s (225/60R16) gets 11-13 mpg in pure city/stop-n-go driving. I've gotten as low as 9-10 mpg though. The Vic gets a max of 18-20 mpg with pure highway driving and I have never been able to break 21 mpg. I managed to snag 23 mpg with the 2003 E-250 w/ 3.73s (225/75R16) and the 5.4 2V V8 in pure highway driving. That is also when I nailed the speed limiter at a blistering 89 mph... It revs about 200 RPM slower than the Crown Vic on the highway.

I haven't taken long term gas mileage readings with the Stang yet, but I have high hopes for it because of the VCT, CMCV, 5-speed manual gearing (only 2000-2100 RPM at 75 mph), and reduced mass and aero drag.

As I understand it, it gets better with a few more miles. I've read people get 19 on the first few thousand and then turn around and get 20-22.
