well once you learn how to drive a stick good it should pretty much be easy, if you arent used to it, you will have to rev probably a little more like 3500-4000, and drop the clutch as quickly and easly as you can. The key is to not just let it go, but to have the right give and take between gas and clutch. Like I said if you are not too good at driving a clutch, you may want to keep driving for a while before you tear a clutch up trying to drop it and burn out. Right give and go, will get you there.

Like sodaman said, and you can rev high, disengage the clutch slowly, then once the car starts to move, dump it and gas it... away from other people and cars - not in your neighborhood! :nono:

What are techniques for a "standing still" burnout for a stick.

Same, just apply light pressure to the brake pedal after they start spinning but before you start moving. The trick is to get light enough pressure to hold the car w/out being heavy enough to grab the rear rotors.

Or just get some line locks, to lock your front breaks when you want to stand still burning em. Eventually I will get me a set of line locks, that way your not burning up your back brakes. Good luck

Just watch.
BURNOUT

I know not 2005...but a 2006 version is coming soon.

Just remember kiddies....you need to start above 4000rpm for this to work.

Also if your not good at it yet, throw some dish soap or something else slick under your wheels. Will help you get them spinning easier. Just BE CAREFULL and safe.

I did an awesome reverse one, and forward one like in the movie Bullit. SMOKE EVERYWHERE, and tread still looks even and new like other tires.
People had gaping mouths when I did it. car slides right under you, it's awesome, and don't do it in close quarters.
for the brakestand, right when you let go of clutch quickly transfer that leg to brake, but don't hold them too hard lighlty will do.

I just can't wait to lock up my differential, I have a V6. They light the tires soo easily.

Line locks huh?I was wondering how people did those slow moving burn outs. I knew they had to have the brakes on so the car wouldnt roll but I was wondering how they kept from smoking their rear brakes as well. So how do the line locks work? Some sort of switch to only lock up the fronts or something?

It'd probably be safer to do a standing burnout with linelock installed since now the car has 4 wheel disc, and back then drums never had much brake pressure when you lighlty pressed the brakes.

Yeah linelocks are basically like a handbrake that activates your front wheels only.

turn off TCS, push the clutch in and floor it, then dump the clutch as soon as the revs shoot to 5k, and give it half brake once u dump the clutch

All I gotta say is doing a burnout with the rear sliding, and the car trying to slide right under you, is a whole lot more fun that a standstill burnout.
So for those who havent used their tread, I'd recomend experiencing a real one rather than a standstill one.

What we used to to back in HS, after we alked uphill 500 miles through the snow that is, was put a toggle switch on the dash some place that was the electrical line to the rear power brakes. Line lock basically. You flipped the toggle off so the rear brakes didn't get the signal to engage. Then stomped on the gas and brake, engaging only the front brakes.

Also, for pictures we were taking we'd put some bleach on the road under the treads. Makes for a huge smoke screan without burning up your tires.

fleasome,

I assume you mean you had a switch on the dash that was connected to a solinoid in the rear brake lines so they didn't get any pressure when you pushed on the brake pedal... Otherwise, I wasn't aware any cars HAD electrical rear brakes...
