Help with K&N CAI
I just received my K&N CAI that I ordered off ebay. The only problem is that it is missing one of the pieces (N hose; 3.5 "id x 2"I, black silicone - 08698). Does anybody have any advice to get another?
The company I ordered it through hasn't responded to anything I have sent since I bought the CAI (which wasn't a good sign, but I didn't back out afterwards). I would appreciate any help.
Thanks,
Michael

Anybody? I went by Home Depot tonight and the guy that worked there told me that they didn't carry them there. I thought that sounded kind of strange that they wouldn't have them there, but I don't know much about this sort of stuff.
Do any hardware stores or other type of stores carry these?

I had the same exact problem. Went to a couple of auto parts stores till I found one that would sell a 2" piece of hose (3.5" inside diameter). One store would only sell it by the foot - $33.00!
No wonder I could get it so cheap ($190.00) on ebay.
Good Luck, hope you find what you need. You'll love it, when it's installed!

2 inches? thats not long enough....
K&N is supposed to be shipping the part to me. That is strange that two of us had the same problem with the K&N.
The installation instructions say 2" w/ a 3.5" diamater. This is just the part that connects the tube to the filter part.
I hope the part comes soon b/c I am getting very antsy about putting the CAI on and seeing what it does.

I just installed my K&N and I have a horrible sound at idle. It sounds like a nasty whistle or something. I don't know how to explain it. UofH2005 might be able to explain it better since he was there to hear it. Has this happened to anyone? I tried to search for it, but I couldn't really find anything like this. Does anyone have any advice. I took the filter off and put it back on and took the tube off the throttle body and reinstalled it. I don't know what else to try.
Does anyone have somewhere that I can post a video of the engine and sound to get suggestions?

Pete, I know exactly what it is and had to have my, uh, Ford dealer fix it, just today. If you have the instructions, look at step 20: there is a vent hose that runs between the valve cover on the left side of the engine (facing from front) to the K&N intake tube. That short piece that the tube connects to is wrong (it gets too narrow and the engine tries to suck air, creating the noise). The plastic has to be drilled so that the intake is a uniform diameter on the inside. Ford fixed it for me (for $109!) and so far, so good. Let us know how you make out.

Hey xpinoy, I checked and that is what happened to mine. Thank you so much for all your help and everyone else. I am going to drill the hole tonight or tomorrow and I will report back.
I hope that K&N fixes this problem b/c it is pretty annoying that they are sending out their CAI like this.

Hey guys. I got home from work just a little bit ago and I drilled a hole where K&N forgot to drill.
That was definitely the problem. Thanks again for everyone's help.
I love this CAI. I just wanted to write this real quick, it is time for me to go drive some more. haha.
