that was a dumb statement.

Why was that a dumb statement? Maybe he wanted an x-pipe that fit correctly the first time?

maybe he should have been more specific, instead of just blurting out that statement when the magnaflow rep was trying to explain to us what was going on.Being antagonistic is not helping.Maybe he should grow up a bit,or just be a little more verbal in his comments.

Randy - agreed - never a good idea to just rub salt into the wound....I trust Brent to do the right thing and will post once I get the new pipe and install it. I'm sure that Bassani makes good products as well - just the context of the comment didn't really add anything to the situation and came across as an insult to Magnaflow - even though that was probably not the intent of the comment.

Well - I have to check back in with everyone......and I'm not impressed with Magnaflow at this point....my x-pipe was a terrible fit and based on Brent's promise I left the car sitting for a week waiting on the arrival of the replacement x-pipes (with the correct fit))...nothing arrived despite my PM to Brent and several PM's later I still have heard nothing.....my faith in Magnaflow is waining and still no word....I finally reinstalled the factory h-pipe so I could at least drive the car and still no word from Magnaflow.......very disappointed in their customer service...don't care about the tee shirt - just send the correct fitting x-pipes please.....man this is becming a hassle.......

Sorry to hear the continuing problems, but I am glad that these problems are coming out. It helps others make decisions.

I guess my Bassani short x pipe will be my decision now. Folks have been suggesting other brands to me at the local speed shops, but all I read on this site are problems.

I am currently shopping for an off-road x-pipe. I wanted Magnaflow, but I am now thinking that's not a good idea. I have the Magnaflow exhaust and want it to match. Sorry to hear about the hassle, Bradley. I sure hope Magnaflow makes things right.

Update-
Sorry guys-

I have been away on business- and I got back this week, to find out this-

I will find out what happened with the X pipe-

I would have been back to this thread earlier, but company business was temorarily put on hold this week due to the sudden and unexpected death of one of our founders- and brother to the owner-

http://www.magnaflow.com/05news.asp

see the first link.

I will be out of town next week as well on business, but I promise you that I will be in contact with manufacturing to find out what reason they could have for not making these X pipes yet- and I will check in with you so that I can let you know what is going on- as now it is not just Magnaflow- but my name and reputation on the line-

Thanks
Brent

(Hot lap- Did you receive an email from Danny? I gave him your email and asked him to follow up on this and to contact you last week with an update-)

Quick question: Say I have a C&L intake and Predator tune on the car right now. If I add an off-road x-pipe, will the tune need to be modified? How do you keep from setting the CEL light off?

I can tell you that, Jason. Putting on an off-road mid-pipe will definitely require a tune. The computer needs to be told to turn off the 02 sensors that are in the cats. Your CEL will definitely go on and stay on until that is fixed.

IIRC the Predator is able to turn off the 02 sensors, so I am alright. Other than that, do you need to adjust the fuel or timing?

I'm not 100% certain, but I don't think so. I think it's just the 02 sensor. Someone else will have to confirm this though.

Probably a moot point - but only 3 of the 4 O2 sensors are in the cats/xpipe piece....the 4th is in the exhaust manifold lower driver's side....I would imagine that you'd turn off all of them together.....?

thats why i got bassani .

Its the price we pay here at Magnaflow for having a relationship with Ford and getting preproduction vehicles before any one else, and trying to be the first one to market with a piece that is dyno proven to create power. Also, currently our X pipe is the only one that is 49 state legal.

Some people are willing to be patient with us to get the additional dyno gains we offer over "other" X pipes- as they know we ALWAYS take care of our customers.

Brent - going on week 5 and still no x-pipe replacement. I just spoke with Danny again and while you have the new x-pipe in stock and are shipping them to others - no one has shipped mine yet :bang: Seems there is some internal confusion as to how to go about it?? Would appreciate it if you could contact Danny today and authorize him to ship...he stated that the new batch is shipping and I don't want to miss out and have to wait additional weeks to get mine.

Trying to be patient - but the internal communications at Magnaflow don't appear to be working as if I had not taken the time to call Danny a 2nd time - I don't believe anything would have been done

Thanks for your help with resolving this and please let me know if I need to do anything further to expedite the process.

Brad

Brent - update - Danny just called and is working on getting my pipe shipped within the next couple of days - keeping my fingers crossed! b
