Seriously, I'm trying (very hard) to install my Magnaflow X-pipe and am having a very difficult time getting it installed - the stock H pipe came right off (boy is that thing heavy compared to the Magnaflow unit) but I can't get the Magnaflow hanger's to line up into the rubber donuts that are part of the tranny mounting brace......when I get the hanger's lined up the tranny brace is in the way and no amount of pushing/puling/wiggling/swearing :bang: will get them to budge......do I have to remove the tranny brace to mount these things???

And if so, I'm going to have to get a jack under the tranny to hold it while the brace is off?

Or do the hanger mounts themselves come off somehow?

thanks - "tired of laying on that cold concrete floor in 1000 Oaks"

I'm not sure if he posts here, but go over to Stangnet and search for GNN60GT500. He works for Magnaflow and might be able to give you some assistance.

How are you making out man? Hope it's going better now.

I want to hear all about it when you finish - it's the next thing I was planning on too.

Todd - I'm about to crawl under there again and think I'm going to have to drop the tranny mount brace - not enough clearence to get the hangers on otherwise......I am excited to get this installed - Brent was saying they picked up to 19rwhp on a stock tune '05.......next step is the Dyno/Tuner shop....to see what these mods all add up to....hoping for 310 to the ground!!

If they picked up that much hp on a stock car, wouldn't a large portion of that gain come from leaning out the rich factory tune with the better flowing exhaust?

Well I finally got them installed!! Had to support the tranny with a floor jack and drop the brace - hangers slid right in and all went well from there. For some reason Magnaflow left one of the x-pipe ends shorter than the other.....the stock clamp fits over the gap OK (wish there was less of a gap) - but can't figure why Maganflow would leave one end shorter than the other? Anyway, I did get them installed and the car sounds much meaner now ......not so much out the back - but you can hear the x-pipe under the car - I havn't had the time for a long drive yet - but I can tell there's gonna be some increase in the dreaded "drone" level.

I'll post back later about how it drives, etc.

I had mine installed last week and the drone is quieter now. But at WOT this thing roars. It has made the sound much throatier and the SOP dyno says the torque has increased by a nice margin. I am waiting on my headers before I head back to the dyno.

Bradley, did you contact magnaflow with the problems you had? You should because they may not be aware of the issues. Had the same problem with the axle back kit. FORD changed some designs along the way so it depends on when you got the car.

Thats what I am wondering. When we order parts, should we say when our car was built. I picked mine up in Nov, so I am not sure which part to get.

Well the new ones go into production on this Thursday March 31st.

We stopped shipping the old ones about 3 weeks ago- and we shipped very few units before we got a call from a shop, so we immediately halted all others from going out the door-

So the chances of getting an old design are pretty slim, but you may want to tal talk to whoever you order it from to make sure that it was a peice delivered after April 1st and not before that-

The new piece will fit the old and the new exhaust cars- so as long as everyone gets a piece shipped after April 1st- you will have nothing to worry about-

You can tell right away if you get an older piece because on the side that goes to the X pipe, one pipe will be about 2" longer then the other-

Thanks
Brent

Its the price we pay here at Magnaflow for having a relationship with Ford and getting preproduction vehicles before any one else, and trying to be the first one to market with a piece that is dyno proven to create power. Also, currently our X pipe is the only one that is 49 state legal.

Some people are willing to be patient with us to get the additional dyno gains we offer over "other" X pipes- as they know we ALWAYS take care of our customers.
