Help With Exhaust !!! Please

Ok for about 3 weeks now i have been looking at all the axle back exhausts. I have got it down to these:

SLP ''Power-Flo" axle back
JBA axle back
Flowmaster American Thunder axle back

or should i spend a little bit more money and get one of these

MAC Mustang 2005+ V8/V6 2.5'' SS Cat-Back System 4'' Slashcut, Rolled Tips
Magnaflow 2007 Mustang GT500/Mustang GT 2005+ Cat-Back 2.5 inch Exhaust System

any pros and cons of any of these would be very apreciated

well, looking and doing your home work was a smart move... there's so many to chose from, many people including myself have changed exhaust several times searching for that elusive sound. the pypes new system may be more what we're searching for, at this point i'd change the system or you'll be switching mufflers at least a couple of times.

oh yea, there's a very good thread on this if you can find it.

GTA's all the way !!!

Hey, I went through the same thing a month ago. I think the GTA's are the best. After a few hundred miles, they really woke up and the tips are awesome. I also put on a C&L CAI and Breenspeed tune. Totally different car.

I went with Coffins, but i am thinking about switching to Borla "Stingers" or a Cherry Bomb exhuast, i just like disturbing the peace lol. In the end i know i am going to end up with a Cervinis side exhuast and Cherry Bomb glasspacks with ARH long tube headers and an offroad H-pipe

I have a custom system that is pretty much the Pypes Mid Muffler System + the O/R Prochamber and I freakin love it! No Trumpeting just deep and loud!

yes! yes! yes!... offroad prochamber very nice, a deep loud set-up, i ordered the high flow cats w/ the intentions of gutting the cats, using
that area (empty cat) as a resinator. and it's the best sound i've heard,
coupled w/ imco extreme axle back.

I find glasspacks to be just downright annoying... personal opinion of course... around here everyone and their Z71 has glasspacks... they might as well go open exhaust because I prefer the opened up sound more than the popping sound coming from a set of glasspacks

lol... I know exactly what your talking about JRay.

As for choosing which exhaust, check out the "Exhaust Thread". It's a sticky and has lots of good information. In the end, you should go with the sound you like best. Youtube.com has a lot of good exhaust clips for you to determine which you like best.

you will never realize the potential, or lack of, listening to exhaust clips... i would think (i know) after a while they all sound the same.( on the clips) except for the exhaust cut outs or offroad, after that you can't really tell the difference, listen to 20 and tell me what you think, point is our muffler are what they are axlebacks. on the SN95 you have a long pipe after the muffler and it plays a long note, after it comes from the muffler, we don't have that on our cars and it's why the pipes system sounds so good on the S197, the muffler is moved way up stream and it plays a beautiful tone... heard it in person. try to visit a couple of car show, cruise nights or whatever you have in your area listen to S197's there you will find happiness.

I just got my GT and I'm using the SLP loudmouths for now, and I have the FRPP/Borla Stingers on the way. The slp's have a decent sound and but I'm really looking forward to a deeper tone. I want to cam it out, get a CAI, Long tube headers and a high flow catted x-pipe. So I definately have to consider, as should you, what future mods might affect your sound.

I just think glasspacks on a mustang especially one of the new ones is just a downright shame ... these cars produce a great sound on their own... why add popping and crackling artificial fiberglass sound? If you want it to be loud but sound good just go with an SLP loudmouth set up... sounds fantastic to me... yes maybe not deep enough... but aggressive when you get on it... I have had mine for over a year... and to this day I still get a huge smile on my face when I step on the gas!
