When running shorty or longtube headers are you supposed to retune. I had shorty headers for about two month's without a tune and everything was fine. I asked a tech at macperformance and they did not know. Does anybody know? Thank's

I talked to Doug at Bamachips about this before I bought his tunes and he said no.

Mine leaned out a little with Longtubes. Needed about 7% more fuel at WOT. I also did not run cats.

I have LT headers and was told I would need to retune. I installed Doug/Bamachips' tune and LOVE IT!

How long did you drive without the tune.

I had Doug send me a new tune when I put the LTs on. Not sure whether or not I "needed" it, but he sent me one anyway. I'm sure with 1.75" primaries, he probably adjusted the tune to compensate for the torque loss, and well as the increased flow.

And Dustin, I still love the Dynatech LTs. I'm just not real fond of the hi-flow cats, however.

I brought my tuner to the shop at the same time they installed the LTs. So it was right away. I did however drive for a week with my CEL on because I didnt have the front o2 sensor bungs hooked up, only the rear. I'm running JBA catted h-pipe and was initiatlly sent the wrong the o2 extensions. Nothing happened to the car though, no fail safe or anything. Once I hooked up the front sensors I cleared the CEL code with the Xcal2 and all is good!
