Would ceramic have less dust than the street one? Oh, and what happens if you have zinc plated rotors? would the ceramic ruin those?

Excuse my ignorance, I read and read, but I don't think these questions were answered...

This is the reason I'm asking:

Performance Ceramic
Ultimate stopping power in an ultra-low dust, low noise ceramic compound!
Hawk Performance has introduced a premium, high performance, ultra-low dust, low noise compound called Performance Ceramic.
Performance Ceramic is engineered to reduce brake NVH (Noise, Vibration and Harshness), creating a quieter performing brake pad. Furthermore, the ceramic brake pad formula has a linear friction profile that allows your ABS brake system to work more effectively. With Performance Ceramic you can expect reduced brake pad wear, lower dust output levels and a rotor-friendly brake pad.

I use HP+ for road coarse events and they are great with my stop tech kit and my 13 rear stock upgrade kit. For normal use, stock or HPS' would be fine.

Oh, and I buy from Total Mustang Supply. Great, knowledgeable people and good prices too. Speak with Pat or Tedd.

I've run a few different pads on my car, both for the street and for the track...

OE: Burned the pads up in around 9500 miles of "spirited" street driving.
Hawk HP-Plus: Fairly dusty, great stopping cold to hot, a little noisy.
PosiQuiet: Silent, low dust, not a lot of grip (I can push through the fronts).
Carbotech HT10/HT8: "Hand of God" brakes when hot. Miserable when cold, but that would be expected for race brakes. VERY noisy when cold, and would not recommend them for the street, but absolutely AWESOME on a road course. Less dust under heavy braking than the HP-Plus, and a higher temp capability. If you turn your rotors blue and purple, these are the pads for you...

for about 5k miles, all street, no track except 1/4 mi.
good performance for me and no dust.

That's what I was looking for!

Any issues with cold/hot weather conditions?

The PosiQuiet pads are ceramics. Very low dust, but not the greatest "grab" power either.

I just got a reply from Rich at rotorpros.com and he said:

"The HPS work great but we have heard that in the long run they become noisy. The Performance Ceramics might do a little better job for ya!"

Only time I hear any noise is when I back down
my driveway in the early morning, once I'm
driving always quite except for rumble from
Powerslots under really hard braking.
After 5k minimum wear on pads or rotors.

Well, I was convinced with J2L06GT's experience of low noise and no dust and pulled the trigger on some Hawk Ceramic pads. $120 shipped!

Hmmm I guess I will chime in...since nobody talks about EBC brakes....
I have had Hawk HP on both front and currently on rear rotors.
My main issue with them was the noise, high pitched squeaky noise at all times, and gets worse over time, I have tried using more "brake goop" but to no avail. I think the issue may be with the fact that the pad does not have taper at the ends of the pad like this /----\ like stockers or EBCs and this may contribute to squeal, but gives more surface area

As for EBC Yellows.....Great product, in fact better stopping than Hawk HPs, about the same dust, and NO SQUEAKS.....and boy, with my Kumho SPTs the brakes just flat out work, and nice firm pedal feel too, although my brother's 08 has much better pedal feel stock in compared to my stainless lines

How can stock have a better pedal feel than SS lines and high performance brakes!?!?
