Has anyone successfully installed Pypes mid-muffler system?

I'm very close to pulling the trigger on this system, but then I read on a few other mustang forums about problems during installation. One wrote that he had an exhaust shop put it on, and they had to cut the hangers to align the system correctly. Another wrote that after 3 hrs, he never could get it adjusted properly to where it wasn't touching the gas tank or the crossmember over the axle. I wanna do this myself, but I don't want to have to modify the system a lot, plus I don't really want to have to deal with the "what-ifs" with rpmoutlet if it doesn't fit.

Someone on this forum or another mentioned his shop took about two hours to adjust the system to align and have the proper clearance with the gas tank.

I was originally interested to try out that system but I don't feel like I'm going to do it after hearing these stories. Even if I could get it adjusted, I would be worried to have vibration or bumps on the road move something just slightly and cause the gas tank to touch. I'll pass for now.

I have the Pypes system, my installer said it was really easy to put on and didnt have any issues with it. He did weld my tips on and had it all done in about 40 minutes, anyway it looks and sounds great.

How is the drone? I'm running bassani catted x-pipe and the bassani race mufflers (similiar to the borla stingers) that has major drone. The sound is awesome, but getting a little tired of the drone. I thought about the GTA's, but I also know they would be more mellow than I was looking for. Anyways, good to hear someone have a good experience with this system!

Thumbs up Pypes Mid's

Howdy, I also have the Pypes mids and I did the Install my-self on jack stands. It took me about 3 -4 hrs to get it installed and everything lined up just right...

The Mufflers still sit a little close to the mufflers for my liking, but I picked up a pair of Heat shields:
http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.asp?autofilter=1∂=THE%2D11600&N=700+400 356+308474+115&autoview=sku
just for piece of mind.

While I was at it, I also Grabbed some gasket material:
http://store.summitracing.com/partde...5&autoview=sku
to make sure there where no leaks.

It took some fighting but the system is installed, aligned, sealed and protected. I was even able to get the Loudmouths back on (I’m not a fan of the Pypes tips)

as for the Drone... To tell you the truth, I don't really notice it. But then again, I usually drive around w/ the windows down and the S1000 cranking some AC/DC.
But I LOVE the Mid mufflers, she still barks for ~20-30 seconds when cold and REALY barks when @ WOT, but around town driving there is a beautifully deep grumble.

P.S.

Be Aware this is NOT w/ the stock H. I have the Pypes O/R H + the Pypes Mid Mufflers & SLP's

Hope this helps.

Cold

If you get a chance could you post a sound clip and what you think of them.

I'll try to do so. I have the system in hand, but I won't have time until Sunday to install them. It's killing me having them but not installed, so I've been thinking about bringing it to the exhaust shop to get em installed.

Well, I took off early and went to the exhaust shop. Luckily, everything lined up like it was supposed to! As far as the sound, it's definately toned down from the Bassani race mufflers. Sounds great at WOT, deep and mellow at idle. Best part of all, NO MORE DRONE!! I'm already thinking about taking the cats off for some increased volume, but I **** sure don't wanna try it just to have to put em back on because of trumpeting. Overall, I'm very pleased!
