GT's first time at the track

Well, finally took the car to the track today. Ran a little slower than I hoped for. Temp at the track was in the lower 80's. Mods are in my sig. First run was my best. 8.945 @ 81.849, 2.064 60ft, .507 reaction. Are these normal times for CAI/tune automatic with 3.31 gears? Looks like the next mod will be some 3.73 or 4.10 gears.

I'd say those are fairly normal times. I see high 8s, low 9s for a lot of near stock S197s.

I iced the C&L before the second run and picked up in mph but my 60ft and e.t. suffered. It ran 8.994 @ 82.289, 2.157 60ft on that run. I would just like to see some 8.70s with stock gears. I plan to go back when we get some cooler weather and try again.

Last week here it was humid so I was in the 9.0x 79.9x range.

I went back to last year early oct, 62 degrees, 45% humd, 30.19 falling - 2.10 60', 5.812 330, 8.854 @ 81.21. I think the best I've ever run was 8.78 range and it was cold/dry weather. My best MPH was 82.5 on a great night. My biggest problem is the 60' which my best is 2.03.

I don't think you're running drag tires which would help you hook more consistantly. I've still got 17's on mine and use M/T Drag Radials at the track.

Were you running with those heavy 20's? If so, the factory 17's would help out.

I've got an auto with intake/tune, UDP's, Deletes, and O/R H. I run between 8.6 and 8.8. I'm planning on getting 4:10's in the near future so I'll make sure to post if I break my best run of 8.6.
