GT Intake Plenum Cover

I can get a good deal on a used 2010 cover for my 2008 GT. It doesn't include hardware. I know the 2005-2006 GT's required studs. Anyone know if the cover will fit my 2008 using the existing hardware from the engine?

According to the our Ford catalog they are the same from 2007 on up.

I confirmed it fits but does it use the existing hardware on the intake? I think the 2005-2006 required studs.

If you have the studs on the TB, you need 5MMx1.5 nuts (if I remember), a washer, and they fit fine. I posted the pitch before the crash and I think it was 1.5 but don't know for sure.

If you have an '08/'09 the studs should be there.

The Ford catalog picture show the 6MM studs are the same also for 2007-up. and it uses a 5mm nut.
BUT when I ordered mine(cover) from Ford it came with bolts not studs. So I now see why you've asked the question. Good luck.

2005 to 06/05/06 the upper throttle body had bolts at the top, from 06/05/06 they replaced them with studs, you will need 2 studs ford part# W712289-S437 to replace the bolts, careful to not over tighten the studs, shop manual shows
Torque Specifications

TB stud bolts 10nm / 89 lb-in

I didn't catch that, yes anything after 06/05/06 should have the studs.

Len,

The short of it is..If you already have the studs(factory installed) for the top two locations of the TB then all you need is the two 5mm nuts. Part number W520411.S437 from Ford

Thanks for the info. What are "pirch" nuts or is that a typo?
