For a manual you put it in gear, clutch in- rev up a little bit dump the clutch and quickly move the clutch foot (Left foot) over to the brake to hold the car from going forward, while simultaneously getting on the gas to keep the car from stalling. Don't completely floor the car because it will bounce off the limiter and you will look stupid...

I have a manual..what's line lock?
Once I let the cluitch out and step on the brake doesn't that lock up the rear tires too? I'll be burning up my back brakes won't I?

Yes, thats the point of the line lock. You press down the brakes then engage the Lock which will only affect the front brakes, letting the rears spin freely until you want to drive off then you disengage the Line Lock and you are off to the races.
