Well I have Koni shocks and Steeda sport springs laying in the garage awaiting assembly. I also have GT500 strut mounts on order from CJ Pony. But they are on backorder and I was told yesterday that it will be 1-2nd week in April. At $56 shipped I think they are a way better deal than $275 for the Steeda's. Just my opinion.

The main advantage from the Steeda's is allowing for some additional camber adjustment.

CJ's does have some good pricing, but everytime I order through them, the parts are never in stock. I am 3 for 3 on parts being backordered or simply not in stock. Not a big deal unless you are in a hurry.

Steeda for me. +1 on the adjustability and if you want to change springs, you don't have to keep buying strut mounts.

Find a distributor that will cut you a deal. I paid $220 for mine.

Im going with the J&M plates. Similar to the Steedas but $50 bucks less and have more adjustment. The GT 500s are the same as the GT, but a stiffer rubber. The camber adjustment is needed for lowered cars to reset the alignment.

How about these they have 4' camber:

The J&M are $250 unless you know where they sell them cheaper...

American muscle, mustang parts outlet and lmp racing sell them for 229.99. If you post on mustangforums.com you can get a discount code for American muscle. Street beat customs sells them for 225, but their shipping is ridiculous. Happy shopping.

When you lower your car you get too much negative camber, which will wear out the inside edge of your tires. The Steeda strut pads lets you adjust that out if you dont lower more than 1.5 inches.

My J&Ms should be in this week. Then waiting on my tokicos next week and I will let you know. The J&Ms look very similar to the steedas. But Im on a tight budget so went with the J&M. Dont know about the PHB, still like to see a brand name.

Neither! Don't waste your money

I have Steeda Ultralites on my car. Despite what Steeda may tell you in order to sell product, you don't need their strut mounts. They are ridiculously expensive, and you are not lowering the car enough to even need camber plates, let alone premium adjustable strut mounts. Trust me, I went through this decision myself. The only thing that I needed was a front end alignment, which cost me all of $65.00 at Sears because the shop that installed the Ultralites did not have the equipment to perform wheel alignments.

I ordered a pair of GT500 strut mounts for my '08. They looked identical in both size, shape, feel, weight, color, and composition to the stock strut mounts on my car. Now, I have heard that Ford put new strut mounts on the 2008's and 2009's and that may be true. At the same time, after the install, the new strut mounts started popping (clunk noise when I turned the wheel). I went back to the shop, had the new ones taken out (which I returned for a refund), put the old stock ones back in, and problem solved.

Bottom line, if you're only installing Ultralites for your lowering springs, then you don't need new strut mounts.

I am having my car lowered FR FR3 and Steeda Ultralights. I explained that the site said that I need to buy $299.00 Strut mounts and the Ford service told me to save my $300 and I don't need them on my 07.

+1

I'm running FRPP Dampers with Steeda Ultra-lites and have zero issues with my 06 stock mounts or the cars alignment.

Ok so what if i went with eibach pro springs (1.3F/1.4R) or FRPP K's (1.5 BE's) will i need strut mounts then?
I don't know yet if the ultralites will give me the necessary drop!
I was ready to decide on the FRPP K's but then i read somewhere that it wont give you the 1.5 drop unless ussed with FRPP dampners or Tocikos! It's so confusing doing these combo's. I don't like the idea of trial and error i wanna get it right one shot! Economic crisis!

Also that PHB that i posted is "Billet" isn't that a brand name company?

Dampers will not adjust ride height at all, that's only controlled by the springs. Also the eibach pro springs and the k's are one in the same. Stay away from the Steeda springs if your looking for an aggressive drop.

Looks like an eibach pro drop. I can't really see much of a change when I see people with the Ultralites. From a exterior mod, it doesn't do much for the car (at least for me); from a handling, I hear it does well.

Also, as explained before, the drop is the drop, the dampeners won't change the drop, just the rate of bounce back (and how comfortable that drop is or not when driving).

As far as the strut mount, every car is different. Mine didn't have an issue with the stock back on until about 4 months later. You may never have an issue, or you may have an issue as soon as you put it back in the car. The way you can guarantee it won't happen (first shot I guess) is with either the GT500 strut mount (which won't allow you for ANY adjustments if you have an alingment issue) or the Steeda one, which will allow you to eliminate any clunks and adjust in case you need an alingment.

I say wait, save your pennies, get the best out there, and have peace of mind if you want it done right from the get go.
