Ah ok.

Could you tell me what the problem is in a nutshell? I tried to follow that long thread but there was so much crap going on that I couldn't understand.

Was there a defect in the kit, or was there a mix-up in directions?

If something does end up being defective, it won't be the fault of GMS. Like all the other kits, the turbo, waste gate, blow off valve, and intercooler come from other companies like Turbonetics, Tial, and HKS, (not sure of the company that makes the intercooler).

The directions were correct, as well, in saying to hook up the side of the WG to the compressor housing (which is obviously before the throttle plate).

I ended up plugging that hole in the compressor and hooking the side of the WG up to the vacuum line that goes to the fuel pressure regulator (which is obviously after the throttle plate).

I thought nothing of this until I started seeing in other directions how important it was to use that fitting in the turbo compressor.

So... now it's all hooked up correctly and I won't see the difference (if any) until I test drive it.

I took off the oil filter to work on the WG (not necessary, but makes it easier to remove and install the WG). This is why I haven't just started it up yet... I need a new oil filter and another quart of oil to replace the amount in the filter.

Here's what I still don't get:

turbo05gt has his waste gates hooked up the same way I had mine hooked up, only his goes through a boost controller.

So, at 10psi (his boost controller setting), pressure is allowed into the side of the waste gates to help open the springs, thus limiting the boost.

Mine let pressure in at 1psi, at 2psi, at 3psi, etc. If this was helping to open the spring, then I can see why the spooling was slow. Perhaps with the hose hooked up wrong, it was even helping it more than it should.

I know, I know... stop talking about it and test the dang thing!! Tell that to my wife! Anybody want her cell phone number?

Tom - Just to let you know...I am still lurking on your posts and rooting for you to have success with this set up.... You've definitely given me a lot to think about when I purchase my kit in January.

And sure, I'll call your wife - She's probably lonely and needs some lovin' with you working on boost all the time!!!!

Thanks! I think Sunday morning is my best chance for some testing.

She's happy now that I'm taking a break for awhile.

My girlfriend gets ****ed when she catches me on these forums. I couldn't imagine how she would react if she found me in the garage working on my car day after day.

No no no. She actually likes being taught about cars. I taught her the difference between a twin screw, roots, centrifigal and turbos.

She's great and I love her!

Quick test today:

No suction through the WG dump any more with the boost source hooked up to before the throttle plate!

I tried it with the boost controller set to 0psi - it completely closes it at full counter clockwise. And I tried it with vacuum (at idle) going through the boost controller.
