where at in jersey?? I know one guy on here payed way too much for dyno tuning at JDM and some of the guys at JDM were not very nice to me when i needed some questions answered. I got a guy around the corner from me, supposibly the #1 Mustang guy in NJ, maybe he'll be more than happy to do your gears.
He is doing my pulleys sometime this week..... only charning me $65. Thats his going rate an hr. But this guy knows Mustangs!

I never have had gears installed, and don't have the slightest idea how to do it myself. $700 seemed kinda high. Is this the going rate? Or anyone know of a better price in Jersey?

Go to a ford performance dealer. There are certain dealerships, that deal with performance models, and parts, saleen, roush etc. I am sure they would put on a set of frpp gears for you with out an issue. some people just have there head up u know what too far. Good luck

I just went to the Ford dealer across the street and the guy at the parts counter said they only do warranty work and wouldn't do a mod like that because it would "void your warranty"

I'll bet they don't know how. Lets set the record straight then let it rest.
NOTE. Ford Racing parts installed by a dealer carry the same warranty as the rest of the car and the do not void anything. Per Ford Motor, CO. I would have the dealer I purchased the parts install them because they have to know what they are doing in the first place to be FMC racing parts dealer. However I did not because of the cost and I had the gears months before the car arrived. You do not need a new bearing unless the installer screws up the old one taking it off and if he does a lot of installs he also has loads of left over shims.
I would definitely shop prices from reputable shops. Mine was 150 but it was a slow time at this shop.

Yup, Manny quoted me the same price, just been out of town for a month so obviously I have not gotten it done yet.
