I just got my 05 GT back from Stainless Works today. They installed their new 3" stainless mandrel bent cat back exhaust system. It looks and fits awsome! It connects to the factory H pipe and has an X pipe just after the factory H pipe. I was supprised to see how well the 3" pipes fit. The system has alot of room between the pipes and the body parts and doesn't hang any lower than the factory system did. The exhaust note is alot deeper than the factory exhaust but is not loud. It has absolutly no drone, raspiness or resonance inside the car. Stainless Works is also coming out with long tube headers and a 3" replacement for the factory h pipe section. I am going to get them installed in the next few weeks. I havent had a chance to dyno the car since the exhaust swap but it definatly feels more responsive. They also offer the systems in 2.5" for those who don't want 3"

I have attached some pictures of the system. I am sure Stainless Works will have images on there site soon if not already. Here is a link to their website. www.stainlessworks.net

I was driving it some more this morning and I was really impressed by the super smooth exhaust note. The only way i can describe it is Tuned and Smooth.

I'd be interested to know how well a 3" system performs. 2.5" seems optimal IMO without some kind of blower etc. Are you planning to get it dynoed or anything?

The tips are rolled 4". If I had not seen it, I would have thought 4" would look too big but it fits the exhaust openings great.

I don't know if I'll spend the money to dyno it with just the cat back, but I will definatly dyno it again after I get the Stainless Works lontubes and 3" mid pipes.

Thats probably why the car is still fairly quiet. That will be nise though when I do the longtubes and midpipe so it does'nt get to loud.
