Ok guys, Going to the track again tomorrow.

Last time I went best consistent time I got was 13.52 at 103 mph
60ft was 2.1 so my traction and launch sucked...

Anyways I wanted to know some tips or opinions. Its a 5 speed GT

What Rpm to launch at:
Feather or dump:
PSI in both sets of tires:
Powershift or what to shift at

More interested in RPM to launch and feather or dump.

I've got the stock 17" pirelli tires.

Mods are as follow:
JBA shorty headers/WMS ram air intake/ Diablo tuner/ Just got throttle body today, so hopefully ill run better.

Track conditions should be at 67 degrees with 60% humidity

Last time it was 48 degress and was raining 5 miles from the track so there was alot of dew or mist id say bad hooking.

I wouldnt launch at anything over 2500 with the stock tires-been awhile since i went down the track on the pirellis but If i can remember right I put the fronts up to 50 and the rears to 22 or so. definately dont dump the clutch-feather it out and try to find the sweet spot of a little tire spin without obliterating the tires and you should pull 1.9-2.0 60's. Powershifting is up to you-it will quicken the pass a little but shorten the life of the tranny so thats up to you. I usually do on the 1-2 shift but clutch the rest of the way. Hope this helps a little and good luck! Let us know how you do. -Jan

Here's a tip

don't crash

other than that do what Black 3V said except I wouldn't powershift unless you can easily buy a new tranny in 10k miles

i'v gotten 1.8 60ft 100% stock car, i recommend feathering the clutch(getting it just right is hard), i also have the stock perelli's and use the stock air pressue since the tires work best that way (they are not drag tires so letting out air will cause the tie to bow in the middle and give you less traction, to much air and less contact patch too use the Fords recommended pressure with these street tires)

This Tremmec Tranny has no probelms with power shifting i have been doing that since day one and have close to 10k miles and all is well, i power shift through my daily driving.

Please do not try to get around the language filters...thank you

I know this might be a really stupid question, but what exactly is power shifting? Is it shifting w/o putting the clutch in at all?

What's wrong with hitting the rev limiter.... other than looking like a fool?

Push in the clutch and grab the next gear without lifting off the gas. It was scary the first couple of times for me and I don't do it often.

You will go quicker - unless you miss!

Thanks for the reply Clem. I am a little too scared to do that now. My Mustang only has 1000 miles on it.

Good thing you asked before you tried it your way! lol

That would be pretty hard to do while racing!

and how do you not let your foot off the gas shifting at 6250 RPM without hitting the rev limiter?
